Good place for a rest
August 23, 2018

My husband and I stopped here on the second night of our vacation after a long day of driving and touring the historical buildings in Washington, DC. I will admit to my initial misgivings when I pulled up to the building and saw an iron security fence around it. We went into the office, and the manager was friendly, got us checked in, and said we could turn in our RediCard for reward points in the morning. He also gave us some directions for catching transit back to Washington the next day for more sight-seeing. We got up to the room and unpacked. It was extremely spacious, much larger than either of us expected. The carpet could use some updating, and the room was rather dark, but it was comfortable and I enjoyed my night's rest. The next morning, we got checked-out, got our reward points, loaded the car, added ice to our chest, and were on our way. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and restful (which is what we wanted!)

Whenever wife and i are in B'more for more than 2 days we always book RR Inn Nothwest since the location is at the center of most things we do. The Habor is bout 20 minutes by subway with many fine resturants as well as shoppes. The staff i always have fun with, from the front desk to the friendly keepers. Habiyb...حبيب

Getting Better.
June 28, 2018

This proporty was something else and is in the process of becoming a Red Roof. The neighborhood is pretty rough so not many dining/entertainment options. The property has a security fence but it’s left open at night. I had no security issues of any kind but had the feeling that a longer stay might’ve resulted in one. I had a Superior King—the nicest room offered by the chain—and this was the absolute minimum to fit the FL definition of the chain. Apparently a dog had spent A LOT of time in this room recently and it smelled accordingly. The room was visibly clean but the carpet seriously needs professional cleaning (Room 133). They had added a ton deorderizer to the room but after a few minutes the smell was obvious. I’m a dog owner so it was no big deal to me but if you’re a cat person this room wouldn’t have worked. The furniture was old and worn—from the previous chain. They have remodeled the bathroom partially and the shower was a highlight. The staff was absolutely wonderful at check in! Super friendly and accommodating. My impression was that a family had fairly recently bought the place and was slowly but surely making it better. Very, very friendly and helpful! Is it fabulous, no. Is it among Red Roof’s premier properties, no. BUT they are obviously working hard to make it better. It would be great if you choose to stay with them now and help the process along but understandable if you decide to wait. Give them a year and I’ll wager it’s totally up to Red Roof snuff.

I’ve always been a customer of the Red Roof. I’m a valued customer,. There service is wonderful, they’re very nice and respectful to anyone who walks in that door. Never any complaints about anything.

Bring comet and linen

The front desk clerk was not very pleasant. Maybe he had had a long day and I just accepted that. Even when I tried to be super friendly I still didn't get a smile or anything. I use CLC to reserve rooms and was surprised when I was told that everyone has to check-out and remove their belongings by 11 AM, even if they are staying over. CLC has a 24- hour check- in policy so I wasn't too please to hear about the policy. The front desk area is kept clean, well-lit, has a coffee and tea bar, two arm chairs and a flat screen TV. The front desk clerk is shielded by a glass which makes it hard to hear them when they're explaining the hotel policy. There is no continental breakfast. No pool. There is covered parking for cars, small trucks, and SUV's. Larger trucks, trailers, and campers are parked along the available space by the fence. The first section of rooms is built over the parking deck. The second part is separated by a courtyard that could use a little TLC. The room was spacious but definitely needed some upgrading. It was a bit stuffy. I realized that the door didn't close behind me and made a mental note to check it upon entering and leaving. The door chain was popped but the deadbolt worked. I was happy that the bedding and four pillows that lined the medium- firm king sized bed were free of stains. The dresser, nightstand, and refridgerator were cracked. However, the fridge, microwave, iron, and blow dryer were all in working order. The air conditioner blew air but it felt like a fan no matter what setting I put it on. The bathroom was in desperate need of remodeling. Cracks, birn marks, and stains in both the sink and tub. The toilet seemed to be clean. The bath towels were white but the hand towels and washcloths were super dingy and needed to be replaced. I used comet to clean the tub after I noticed the walls hadn't been cleaned. A lot of dirt came up. I wondered if housekeeping even tried to really clean it or if they just sprayed it with cleaner. I really just wanted to get some rest and get out of there. I did exactly that. I guess this hotel fits the saying, "you get what you pay for."
