An excellent front desk person

Alisha at the front desk was and is absolutely the best. I have stayed here for business many times and find her to be efficient, accommodating and excellent to deal with. She is always pleased to hear from me and knows me by name and understands exactly what I need before I even ask. Alisha is a pleasure to work with and gets my highest recognition when it comes to customer service. She is indeed Top-Notch and will keep me coming back to this hotel anytime I need to be in the area!

Stay Away! Bug infested hotel!

I stayed here last night to break up my road trip from Orlando, Florida to Connecticut. Don't let the external features of the hotel fool you. It's not as nice as once you walk through those doors! First, I went to use the public bathroom while the desk clerk was checking in someone in front of me. I saw cleaner bathrooms at rest stops and gas stations on the way up from Florida! Disgusting and dirty! That should have been my red flag right there! When it was my time to check in, I was told that I would get a Queen Smoking, which I didn't select online, since I don't smoke! But it was easily changed to a Queen Double Deluxe for the same rate. Once I got into the room, I should have walked straight out and asked for a refund. It just felt dirty. First a smell hits you, that has a dirty musky ring to it. It had a fridge and microwave that had seen better days. The fridge was also very noisy! I sat on the worn and very used desk chair (pic below) to setup my laptop, and I felt I was immediately attacked by something! Not sure if it were mites! I was immediately itchy and I think I caught one of them (pic below)! So I checked the bed to see if it was clean. I pulled back the sheets and it appeared to look OK. I had a shower and that was probably the only good feature of the room! It could have had a little more water pressure but it was pleasant. Then I noticed some sort of cocoon shell in the sink (pic below)! Again, another alarm went off! I also noticed the smoke alarm and hook fixture hanging from the ceiling and wall (pics below)! It was just a badly maintained room! Then I noticed ants on the floor. I killed what I saw and didn't see any further before leaving to meet friends for dinner! I was telling them about the room and they jokingly asked if I wanted a can of Raid. I should have taken it! Once back in the room, I checked everything again and it looked clear, so I went to bed. When I woke up this morning and sat up on my bed, I noticed I was lying on a bug with a blood stain next to it (pic below)! I know the blood wasn't there when I inspected the bed yesterday. So I'm guessing the blood is mine but I'm not sure where from! I don't feel like I've been bitten. That was the last straw, I got dressed and went to brush my teeth, only to be greeted by a cockroach running around the sink! I tried to take a pic, but it was blurry as it was running around quickly (pic below)! I grabbed my stuff to leave, only to be greeted by another roach by the door (pic below). I didn't hang around to say goodbye. While in the elevator, I thought I'm going to make a complaint to the desk clerk and see if I can get a refund. However, no one was around to talk to. It was 5am and I was told there is someone throughout the night. I walked around to see if I could find anyone... nothing. So I dropped the card keys and left. I just sent an email to the corporation to find out who I can make a formal complaint to and see if I can get a refund. I know Red Roof Inn is supposed to be a low budget hotel, but I've stayed at motels and hotels with lower rates that are cleaner for sure!! Needless to say I will not be staying there again, and I advise you to stay clear!

Ok

I stayed and visited with someone in their room here, several times. They were staying there for many weeks for a work project. Pros: 1- Price is ok. 2- Right next to a decent Indian restaurant that has a bar. Across the street from Cheeseburger in Paradise and Outback Steakhouse. Also, Dollar General, Bed Bath and Beyond, JcPenney, GNC, a gym, and Belk. 3- I like the cool color-changing lights out front. 4- The room had hardwood floors so I think that helps keep allergens minimized. But I'm not sure how often they mop/clean the floors. 5- I liked the sinks (they're an interesting square modern-looking design). Cons: 1- The hallways looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. 2- The person I visited said that there was only one person in housekeeping that did a good job on their room. The others left dirty towels on the floor and didn't empty the trash. 3- One night when I got off of the elevator some weird guy in his 20's was waiting in the lobby in front of the elevator and jumped out and tried to scare me. It appeared that he and a friend were eating pizza and possibly drinking with their buddy who worked at the reception desk. 4- You pretty much have to park in the back of the hotel. 5- The room was kind-of hot, and I'm not sure if that's because of an AC issue or not.

This place is awful!

My husband had to stay in this place for a business trip. He said that the floors were dirty. The staff was not helpful and were grumpy about replenishing the coffee at the breakfast bar. The food at the breakfast was not fresh.

Awful! Do Not Stay at This Hotel!

I recently had the sad misfortune of staying at this Red Roof Inn. I booked the room through my Hotels.com account. My husband and I are frequent travelers and have used Hotel.com many, many times and have never had an issue like the one we had at this hotel this weekend! My reservation was for a Superior Room, 1 King Bed, non-smoking, checking in on Saturday 2/25/17 for one night. I called the hotel about 6 pm on Saturday to let them know we would be checking in very late. The gentleman who answered the phone typed my name into the computer and said he would make a note in our reservation. We arrived just about midnight after driving most of the day, and the front desk clerk Brian could not find our reservation in their system! He informed us that there were no King rooms available except a suite, which was $40 more! The gentleman I spoke with on the phone (I did not get his name) was there also, and couldn't explain why he was able to find our reservation earlier but not at this time. He offered no resolution to our problem and left for the night, leaving Brian (who was obviously a fairly new employee) to handle the situation on his own! I suggested that he could give us the King bed suite for the same price as the room we had reserved, but Brian said he did not have the authority to do that. I then suggested he contact someone who could, at which point he called someone named Alicia, who he indicated was the hotel’s General Manager. Alicia refused to do anything to accommodate our Hotels.com reservation and offered no other resolution to us. At this point it was well after midnight and we were exhausted, so we settled for a Queen bed in a Handicapped Accessible room, which apparently was the closest thing. We paid MORE money than our original reservation for a smaller bed! My husband is a large man and we need a king size bed to sleep comfortably, which is why I booked this room more than a week in advance! And as if this aggravation wasn’t enough at 12:30 am, as we were walking down the hallway to our room we saw trash bags, garbage and dirty towels lining they hallway, it was completely disgusting! If it wasn’t so late and we weren’t so tired, the dirtiness of the hallway would have been enough to send us running the other direction! Luckily, when we got to the room it was fairly clean. But the large red light on the desk telephone was blinking. I called the front desk to ask how to clear it out, and Brian told me that all the phones in the hotel were doing the same thing and they had no idea why, and they couldn't do anything about it! We had to put 2 towels over the phone to block out the light! Before finally turning in for the night, my husband went to the vending machines to get a couple bottles of water so he could take his medication…..but there was only soda in the machine. He then went to the front desk (he had remembered that there was a bottle of water under a plastic display box on the counter) and asked if he could purchase some and was told that there were no bottles of water anywhere in the hotel! Absolutely ridiculous! All in all this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had! As I mentioned previously, my husband are frequent travelers and take 10 or more road trips each year. We’ve stayed at numerous hotels, motels, resorts and bed & breakfasts throughout the country and have never stayed at such a poorly run establishment! Especially because they are a “chain” hotel, there is a certain “Standard of Quality” we have come to expect that is sorely missing from this California, MD location. I did try calling their 800 number from the lobby of the hotel, but could not get through to an agent. Not only will I never return to this Red Roof Inn, but I will never, ever stay at any another Red Roof Inn! The company should be ashamed at the unprofessional way our situation was handled, a situation that should have been easily resolved. They also need to keep a closer eye on the management and staff who are running their hotels – it’s obviously time for some Customer Service Training!!!
