Affordable, with Friendly, Acoomodating Staff

My parents live very close to this hotel, so on a recent family visit, we had our 3 married children (couples only, not kids) stay here. We called ahead and asked for an early check in. They could accommodate if we were willing to take 2nd floor rooms, which meant carrying your lugguage up the stairs, as there is no elevator. It was an easy, short climb. The rooms were large and clean. The hotel does have a slight musty/older smell to it, but not offensive. The staff were friendly and 5e breakfast buffet was average. I will definitely book here again because of its’ location.

I chose this property because of its location near my cousins my husband and I wanted to visit. I was very pleased with the fact that there was a room ready even though we arrived earlier than planned. All of the employees are very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Elizabeth for taking care of us...and for keeping Luna around. What a delightful dog!

Really nice place at a great value

We have been staying at this hotel for past month for work. The management is friendly and helpful. All staff has been very nice and provide assistance without haste. The room is clean and comfy. Nice area and feel very safe. We don't even lock our slider and have never had a problem. Breakfast is always fresh and complete. Due to the shift we work we miss the cookies at night. We have stayed at another Red Roof but this one is so much nicer, seems they offer more here.

Overwhelming toxic odors in the rooms. Bad customer service

Rooms overwhelmingly reek of toxic chemicals/cleaning products that triggered a bad migrane within minutes and eventually nausea. Hallways also posses a strong musty odor poorly masked with chemicals. Bathroom showers are also not adequately cleaned. After being in the room for 20-25 minutes, trying to air it out by leaving the sliding door wide open and running the AC, we had no choice but to leave because the foul smell wasn't dissipating whatsoever and we could not sleep there despite how exhausted we were. Staff refused to provide refund because we stayed in the room "longer than 15 minutes after check in." Alternate room offered also had the same problems, and then some... The man working the front desk checked our first room and claimed it was fine, stating he didn't "see" anything wrong with it. He clearly must have shut me out as soon as I asked for a refund because I stressed how fowl and toxic the room smelled 3 separate times. He also assumed that I confused a poorly cleaned bathtub with tub floor's textured design. No; the tub, the shower walls, and the metal hardware in particular all were unclean. He also offered to move us to another room before taking back his offer, on the grounds that I gave him an "attitude". I was never rude nor did I have a bad attitude. I simply stated the problems with the room and how I felt a refund was rightfully owed because we could not stay there due to the hazardous circumstances. He didn't care that the room's air quality had made us unwell and kept repeating "15 minute rule....15 minute rule....15 minute rule. Call my manager who by the way isn't available right now." This young man was the one who began acting with snide as soon as I let him know that I would not accept refusal of a refund given the circumstances. We've stayed at a Red Roof Inn property in Florida before and had no issues, hence why we figured we'd try Red Roof again on our trip to New York. Unfortunately this was the wrong location to try. This Red Roof Inn location is at the very least a health hazard. Do not risk your health or your sleep trying to stay here. Management has trained her staff solely to collect/make money, not to (reasonably) accommodate or care for guests. They could care less if their toxic cleaning practices (or lack thereof) affect your health. Oh, and the hotel parking lot is where sketchy-looking locals come to hang out and smoke marijuana in their cars at 2AM. I saw 2 different parties pull up and do this during the short time I was here. Management obviously does not care to keep such individuals off the premises, and thereby compromises the safety of her customers and their vehicles/property. As was expected for the price, rooms are very basic and very much in need of updating. I don't mind that, but no one should have to deal with volatile toxic chemicals during a hotel stay, followed by poor, uneducated customer service with complete disregard for your safety when you voice your concerns. Save yourself the headache (literally) and avoid this place.

The inn was sold out so it was very busy but the Manager Elizabeth was there everyday with her staff. They worked their butts off and with a friendly smile. I recommend this inn for anyone coming to Jamestown area. Great prices, safe location and great staff
