Very Good for What it is...

We stayed 2 nights at this property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our drain was slow and was fixed immediately. There is lots of easy parking and you can walk to shops and restaurants. We had a standard King room...#102. Do ask for a ground floor if you don't like stairs. Standard means no fridge or microwave. The room was small, but was clean with a small toilet/shower area and separate vanity. We found the room, like the overall property to be dated, but quite clean. The beds were clean and comfy, with good pillows, TV and free wifi. We had a quiet sleep for the most part, until other guests started talking near our room in the am. No breakfast, just coffee in the lobby. This property was very good for a few nights for the price it offers...the HI across the street is twice as much..you want more amenities, go there-we've stayed there as well. Will continue to use this property when we are in the area, as we would rather spend our money on other things (like Hagys's ice cream on Tuscarwaras St).

Dirty Overpriced Room

We were very disappointed in this hotel. We selected it due to the reviews we saw on Trip Advisor. We had limited choices as we were in town for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement week and this one appeared good. Wrong. If we had been able to find somewhere else - we would have moved. First of all, I get that hotel costs were high because of the events popularity but at almost $200 a night at this hotel I expect it to at least be clean. The ceiling was peeling and the floor was disgusting. At first look it didn't appear dirty, but it definitely was. You could tell the floors and carpets had been washed or cleaned in an extremely long time. We would take a shower and by the time we walked to the bed - we had dirty feet. Nevermind that our white socks are now black on the bottom. I have never experienced such dirty floors in a hotel. The room was constantly damp. We tried turning the air up, turning it down - nothing helped. Everything was damp and we even had to wash clean clothes when we got home because of this. Papers felt like they had been sprayed with water and it made it difficult to keep the collectibles we had purchased in good condition. They became safer in the car. I don't expect extravagant ammenities in a hotel like this, but a box of Kleenex would be appreciated. We were left a travel size pack of about 10 pieces. Crazy. Towels were thin and small - but that was to be expected. Although the size was a bit of a shock. Apparently when building this room, no one knew how to use a level. Either that or the dampness of the room is starting to affect the furniture. The entire side of the desk was leaning down making it hard to keep things stored there as they would fall off - same with the soap dish in the shower. These things wouldn't have bothered us as much if the room was clean. But the dirtiness and dampness made for a miserable stay. Luckily there were enough events going on to keep us out of the room the majority of the time. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was very friendly at check-in. We were extremely disappointed in our stay and feel as if we have been price gauged because of the event. On a side note - walls are paper thin. There was a group of construction workers or contractors at the hotel and they were extremely loud drinking and conversing outside the rooms. Annoying. This room is barely worth $50 a night let alone $200! Cleaning is desperately needed!

Whenever I have to be in town this is my favorite place to stay. The staff is very friendly. Suzanne was always a bright smile to see in the morning and very pleasant, and Charlotte always made sure I didn't go without anything and was always a nice morning conversation. I will be back!!

Travelled to Canton from a few hours away for a concert at the Palace Theatre. Having no knowledge of the area I researched hotel reviews. Took a chance on Red Roof and booked a night with a great online price. I was very impressed with the room. First off, I will say the rooms are very small. But just for a quick over night who cares. It was very clean which is most important to me. The room was updated and just like the photo on their website. Staff was very friendly and check in/out was very easy. Parking was ample and convenient. Location is great and plenty of gas/food nearby. Easy access to interstate 77. We paid very little for our one night stay and I was pleasantly surprised at what we got. Just passing through here again sometime with just the two of us, and I would absolutely book again. If I had the kids along too and/or had a longer stay then I would go somewhere with larger rooms. Overall I give 9 out of 10. Very nice job! By the way... just fyi...we stayed in a king bedroom.
