The customer service was great! We had Deondre check us in and he was such a big help. Checking out the next morning was also a breeze. The only negative I'd have to say was that we booked a non-smoking room and it still smelled like cigarettes.

Great service by Ram he set us up with a great room and everyone was super nice to us I’ve never had hotel service this nice. I️ would Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who came to Columbia,SC.

NOT worth the money you save

We booked two rooms thru the desk clerk told us we only booked one room even thou the cost was double the going price on our printout from He told us we had to call our selves. It turns out the clerk was more interested. in going home. As we found out when his relief came on. The night clerk was very helpful and was able to make the phone calls and resolve the snafu. But it was over an HOUR before we got our room. Now for the room! It was the size you would expect for a red roof inn. But not very clean. There was NOT one chair in the room. I will not give up on red roof inns. JUST THIS ONE!!! (We checked in on the night of Oct.25th 2017)

I really do not know where to start! It was a nightmare. We tried to book on the RRI website and it rejected my card two times. I got on the phone with the Master Card folks and we had a three way conversation and booked a superior room for 2 nights. When we got there we found we had three rooms for one night!!!!!! We thought we had it fixed he cancelled two rooms. When I said it was for two nights he said no problem it would just charge us the next day. I handed him my credit card and he said it was already paid. On the plus side I left my drivers license with them and they brought it to the room! The next day we went out before lunch.We left our mostly deaf and blind dog on a blanket on the floor with the tv on. We went to an event - the purpose of our trip. We could have made it a day trip - but I was willing to pay for two nights to have our old dog with us. Unfortunately my husband left his phone in the car. When we got in the car he had a message from the motel. They said that animal control was there to take our dog!!!!!! In fact they still messed up the reservation and it did not roll over the next day! Sometime after 11 o clock checkout time they went in the room , not because the dog was barking but to put our stuff in storage! Frankly if you walk in a room, see a tablet on the nightstand, boxes of food on the counter a backpack, and a suitcase with clothes and a dog and no one there and you think they should have checked out you should call 911 to see what horrible thing may have happened to the people in the room!!!!! Nope! They call animal control. Thank goodness the officer was a kind man and full of common sense, he did not remove the dog from the room and waited until we got there AND made sure we could get into our room. He said he knew the dog had not been abandoned and if he took him we would have to wait until Monday to retrieve him. The dog is a sweet 15 year old senior!!!! He would not have handled it well. I am so thankful the officer stayed there and waited and watched until we got there. He was such a nice man. When we talked to the desk people they said oh no, it would not charge for the day---that is definitely not how I understood the previous night's discussion! They said they could not just charge another day because it was a third party reservation system. Yes, the Red Roof Inn Columbia West calls the Red Roof Inn Nationwide Reservation system a third party. We were told we were not supposed to leave a dog alone there - policy! I did not argue.. Mind you, they would have never known there was a dog if they had not entered a room with a do not disturb sign! Whatever! We packed up and left. There was no way I could have stayed another night! Home was two hours up the road. I had enough trouble sleeping in my own bed! Now we have stayed in many Red Roof Inns, and had pleasant stays with minor issues. There was nothing superior about this room. It reeked of smoke even though it was nonsmoking (I went immediately to the Dollar General for serious air spray!). The comforter had burn holes in just like other posted pictures, and the bed skirt looked like it was stained or bleached. I did look and saw no evidence of bed bugs on the plus side or we would have never stayed! Never again will we stay at this location. I am unable to truly convey what a nightmare the entire experience was! If I could I would rate it a zero! It was a horrible experience!

Great Stay

I had the most comfortable stay ever, I also liked the professional handling of my reservation and my needs from, Irene, Dujuan and Yasmin, I needed help and these few people were so helpful and kind there's no way I could leave without giving a good review about their expertise and care. The cleaning staff were kind as well, they kept my room neat ant gave needed supplies daily. I thank you All for making my family and I comfortable and happy.
