I Expected a Red Roof Inn. What I Got Was the 10th Circle of Hell
June 10, 2017

Let me begin by saying that I was looking forward to staying here. The gentleman who I conversed with as I made my reservation was kind and considerate. I had no reason to expect any issues. When I arrived the gentleman at the front desk was either having a bad day or should not be working in the hospitality industry. Whichever it was, he was challenging to deal with. Be warned: there is no elevator. If you, like me, are hauling materials for a workshop, you will be horrified at what those stairs will do to your back. I arrived more than 2 hours after the stated check in time. The door to my room was standing open, the room was in disarray. The bed had been slept in, towels on the floor. I called down to the front desk and asked the clerk to come upstairs. He informed me the housekeeper would get to me in less than 5 minutes and that I should go into the room, have a seat and wait. I was a woman traveling alone and I was to do this. Insane. I could see the poor housekeeper at the other end of the floor and she was not even close to getting to me in 5 minutes. The fact that the clerk felt this was a reasonable solution to the situation was unacceptable. The fact that he would even think to suggest this is so far off the charts of anything a reasonable human being would do. I felt unsafe and was fed up. I had him carry my heavy bag downstairs to my car and told him I wanted an immediate refund. He complied but it wasn't pleasant. I can honestly say that it is one of the two worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel. But my safety comes first. I hope they get their act together, but I won't be back to try again.

Waco Necessities - Ear Plugs and a Nose Pin
May 16, 2017

This is a decent road side stop in Waco if you don't want to get pillaged from the other hotels during Baylor events. Couple of tips - bring earplugs. You're about 100 feet from I-35. Trucks and cars all. Night. Long. #2 - they use a very heavy chemical deodorizer in the rooms. The gross part, should you think about it, is what have they had in these rooms in the past that causes them to have to hide so much. Ooooooh. Enough of that. #3 - Watch the rates. You can watch on Expedia,, etc. for last-minute rooms and deals if you have someone at Baylor and you have paid enough to the school that you don't want to give a couple extra hundred bucks to a hotel chain. I booked a room about half 2 days before graduation by watching prices. Is this a great room? Heck no. Is it adequate given the Waco market? Yes. Good luck & if you forget your nose pin or ear plugs, go to HEB. There are two very close!

Texas Vacation
April 29, 2017

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast. It is close to the highway with a lot of noise. Room was clean only draw back the bed was sloping down at the head board. The beds are small and hard for two adults to sleep in.

Room was clean. Inn could use some updating. Stairrail needed repair. Other than that it was a good clean room for the value and I felt completely safe there. All the rooms have pretty much the same view and the Inn is just off of the highway. Close to Baylor and Magnolia Market for those interested.
