Dirty rooms and sheets
January 10, 2018

I had reserved a superior king room. I knew something was wrong as the front desk attendants seemed kind of funny acting, particularly the woman with the European accent. Just unnecessarily unfriendly and unhelpful.... So I get to the room 205 and see the floor carpet had not been Vacuumed. Pulled back the sheets and saw that the bed had only been made. There were hairs and what appeared to be earwax stains all over the pillow cases and sheets. So I call the front desk to get new clean sheets and the accented woman refused to give me new ones, had some arbitrary excuse as to why she couldn't get me new ones. Instead offered a new room. So come to find out, it's the room (207) right next to the original. This one was not clean either, bed had all kinds of hair in it and a stains. Tables had not been wiped. This time I went down, and just got a refund. I just couldn't stay there. My friend who was dropping me off was VERY upset. He wasn't very nice about it. However, I stayed cool and just asked her to go look when she had a minute. Whether she looked I don't know. I went and got a room at a different lodging. I don't know if they will ameliorate the issues I saw, but I guess it doesn't matter, as I won't be back.

Fair comfortable stay
December 06, 2017

Made a late decision for a pop-up weekend trip around Auburn Hills. Found a very nice last minute deal on this place. Although this place wasn't rated super high, we were quite skeptical about staying here. All in all, Red Roof Inn was a great place to stay for the night. There was lots of parking when we got here around 11pm. The front desk staff was very nice, although there was some difficulties with the computer system, but that wasn't a big problem for us. There was a pool that had a view outside that we saw while walking in, and there was also an exercise room. The room itself was a little small, but it was not bad. It was quite cold in the room when we got there, but there is a heater/AC machine that we cranked up that made the room nice and toasty. We didn't really care what else was in the room, as we literally went to our rooms and crashed in bed. There was a McDonald's near the hotel which was easy access to, even around 1-2am. The room was simple with a couch and a bed, but nothing really to complain about. The morning breakfast wasn't bad; can't complain since it is complimentary. There was a waffle maker which made them hot and fresh. The apple juice did taste a little watered down. There was coffee and tea. Bagels and some danishes. The fruits there were a little under-ripe or over-ripe so we didn't eat any of those. There was some cereal and milk. Nothing too special with the breakfast; could've been better, could've been worse (but again, it was complimentary, so we couldn't complain). All and all, it was a good stay. Not sketchy at all, and everything was made pretty easy. Even my boyfriend was quite pleased with the hotel, despite the low ratings online.

very loud room 216

checked in after 7 pm. room they gave us had not been cleaned. gave us an upgrade (lol). You could hear everyone walk up and down the hallway. The room shook if they were heavy footed or running. nice price, but you will not get a good nights sleep

OK I guess
September 27, 2017

We found the room to be clean and comfortable, it had a stand up shower which was fine by me but the bride wanted a bath. Should have asked I guess. We found the hotel hard to locate at night as it is not well lit and street lights in Lake Orion are somewhat lacking (first time here). When we got back after our first day here we found that the bed had not been made up and towels had not been changed. There wasn't a tag which said "please make up room" . Continental breakfast was lacking. No orange juice in machine and waffle maker didn't work second morning.

Poorly maintained
September 23, 2017

We asked the desk clerk for a room we could pull our car in front of. He put us in 110. he didn't tell us there were about eight steps up and then across a small patio to our door. This patio area ran across in front of all the rooms and was occupied with what looked like a wedding party that drank and smoked outside our room from check-in until 11 o'clock when we had to call the front desk due to the noise. Fiberglass shower unit was missing the clear bar so both holes are exposed and water is getting in the holes. Shower rod half ripped off the wall, holes in the wall in the room and ceiling repairs not completed over the bed due to a water leak from jacuzzi room above. We stay at Red Roof Inns due to our cat (no charge and usually no carpeting reducing chances of getting fleas from other pets) from Michigan to Florida twice annually. This was probably one of the worst we have stayed at. For a relatively newer property it was disappointing. It was in a pretty good area but it would be on the better side for Red Roof Inns
