Nice room...mostly
February 03, 2019

The gentleman at check was great. He was friendly, funny, and helpful. Our room was very nice...except for the heater. The noise it made kept us up literally all night. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. The snack box was appreciated, it was nice having an iron and ironing board as we were in town for a funeral and needed to iron dress clothes. For the amount of money the room was, we were pleased...except of course for the very loud heating system.

I've reviewed this place before
January 28, 2019

I had been on the road in a snow storm and decided to call ahead and wait till the morning to complete my trip. My room was ready and Gary, at the front desk, was very pleasant (even funny!) and has a positive attitude. (this is my main reason for reviewing this place again! Gary was great, and when Cody took over for him, she was able to help me with my question. I hope I don't get him in trouble for his exptra customer service, but at 9:30 at night, he gave me the box of goodies that the "PLus" rooms usually get - the refreshments were much appreciated. Considering the major snow, the parking lot was well plowed, tho my dog did not appreciate the drifts but then she has short legs! The towels were fluffy, the place was quiet, and for the short time I was in the room (got in around 9:30 pm and left by 7 am), the TV and Wifi and lights seemed to work just fine as did the lock on the room door (I've had problems at this RR before with locks freezing). Check out was easy - I did mention that I had spilled something on the pillow and then washed it out, and the desk person was thanking me but also said I did not have to do that. My sleep was not good but it was more because I had a puppy with me - no fault of the Inn but I was very conscious of not making noise for other people .

Disappointing Stay
January 03, 2019

I will start off by saying that I have stayed at this particular establishment several times in this past year and can say without a doubt it is definitely declining in overall quality with each stay! My family of 3 arrived for a one night stay on Dec 28th and it was the worst stay we have ever had. We were kept awake until 3:30am due to the rediculous level of noise coming from the rooms next to us, we were located in room 229 which is an end room on the second floor of the second building (I may also add we requested a ground floor room which was not fulfilled). The yelling and carrying on of what sounded like some sort of party started around 11:30pm and by 1:00am was absolutely out of control, I placed a call to the front desk to express my upset and was told that there had been several complaints and that the gentleman at the front desk (his exact words) "did not know what else he could do, as he has asked them to be quiet already" He said if things did not quiet down soon they would be asked to leave the police would be called. I called again at 2:00am as the individuals were now out in the corridor yelling about drugs and blasting music from their cellphones. I again called to complain, I had a 4 year old child in the room with me and we felt completely uneasy about everything that was going on and nothing was being done about it. The man at the front desk again said some guests had been asked to leave and he was outside and didn't hear anything when you could clearly still hear yelling. Someone knocked on our door around 2:45am but we did not feel comfortable answering it. This was supposed to be a nice evening getaway for my family but we would have a had a better sleep along a freeway! I understand hotels cannot control the actions of their guests but I would think that there has to be procedures in place to deal with situations like this. Nothing was being done despite the numerous complaints they supposedly received and this had been carrying on for hours. It finally stopped just after 3:30am in the morning. It was hands down the worst sleep I have ever had at a hotel. I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. I think this was my final straw with this establishment. I would rather pay a bit extra to feel safe and to weed out the shady guests who use this place as a hang out party spot to carry on their illegal activities.

Should be called 'Red Roof MINUS-'
December 18, 2018

Decided to stay there to get something a tad better than your run of the mill two star and it underwhelmed on every level. The rooms (especially washroom) was very small. Barely any hot water for a shower in the morning. The carpets were dirty and smelled of smoke. The front door lock wasn't even working properly. Stay somewhere else

Good for the price
November 19, 2018

Stay here about once a year. Great location close to UB, restaurants and stores. The rooms are basic but nice. The heat in mine was a bit loud, but I can overlook that for the price. The only complaint is about the $1.50 per night safe fee. They do ask you to initial reading it at check in, but like I’m sure most people do I didn’t pay much attention. I didn’t use the safe but noticed the fee when I looked at my emailed receipt. I emailed them and they very quickly reversed the charge which was nice. I just wanted to warn others about this fee. I know $1.50 is no big deal but imagine 8 out of ten people not noticing and that money adds up for the inn. Overall though still a good value and place
