Bad Timing

My family along with our dog, has stayed at this location many times over the years and it is always wonderful. We had to cancel when Florence came through and went down a few days ago since the weather was so beautiful. The staff is great as always and I want to make that clear. The problem is with the other guests that are staying for a long duration working construction. It was unbelievable. People blocking the halls talking (very loudly) all hours of the day and night. Spitting sunflower seed hulls everywhere (indoors) leaving a trail, as if they may get lost getting back to the room. Trash all over the pool area. The free breakfast was wiped out over and over again all morning long. The staff could not keep up. The construction workers were packing up the bread (they stood there and made sandwiches) and all the other items for what looked like was going to be lunch. None of these people threw away any of their trash. Plates with half eaten pancakes and waffles, empty cups, spilled drinks, napkins, you name it and if was left or smeared on tables and chairs. The hotel staff was checking in guests , answering phones and desperately trying to refill food and coffee. I felt bad for them. I am not kidding here folks, I was waiting for just coffee, after I cleaned up after the man before me , that took the last drop for his thermos, I saw a man heating his tortillas in the the toaster and opening a can of tuna, spilling the juice in front of the coffee dispensers. People smoking everywhere , just a mess. We checked out after 2 days and came home. I guess the company will make money with the contracted workers, but the hotel is not for vacationing guests while they are there. Not a good atmosphere for any kind of relaxation and certainly not for children.

We stopped here as we traveled from FL to NC returning after Hurricane Florence. We liked the room, especially the linoleum floors. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Because there isn't carpet the halls were noisier. Great budget friendly place to stay. The staff is very helpful.

It's ok for the price we paid for off season, but not higher.

We were able to get in here for about 65 a night in March and it's really about a 2 star hotel. It allows animals which come with extra sounds and smells throughout the hotel. They didn't have free breakfast at the time but said it was being added the next month. Not a bad place for people on a budget. But it looks like they raised the prices after we went. It really seems like there are now better options closer to the beach for only 10-20 more a night. Decent rooms, decent beds, and pillows, Ice machines, snack machines. The pool is ok but pretty small. Mostly good for some kids to hop into to cool off at the end of the day. There are a couple of stations out near the pool where you can grill out with charcoal. Other than those two things there isn't much else as far as amenities. Upside is that it's super close to the airport, which can also be a downside, but we didn't hear a whole lot of plane noise as we expected. A ride from the airport to hear would only be ablout 10-15 bucks. McDonalds is a block away, a Waffle House in the parking lot and a mini golf course across the street made this place a nice out of the way location but still had enough stuff nearby to go to. The beach is an easy 2-3 block walk on a non-busy street.

We paid $136 the first night but it dropped to $76 the second. Lots of pets. We’re grateful for that. Lots of green area to walk the dog. Laundry machines dirty and rooms are adequately clean. Will not return.

Not bad

Stayed here with my family. The hotel wasn't far from the major tourist destination and was very close to the beach! Doesn't have the beautiful appeal like some of the other hotels on the outside and in the hallways, but the room was clean and so was the bathroom. Room was spacious enough to move around if needed. Pool area was big enough for guest.
