Feels like home

I've been staying here since about February of last year and this is where I stay as long as I work in this area. I'm down here for 6 days and home for 3 and I feel like I'm going home no matter which way I'm going. Really clean and still in the process of being remodeled. The new paint job makes the whole place glow. They are turning it into a really great place to stay for a night or like others do, an extended stay. 2 thumbs up, 5 stars

everything in the room was brand new

only a couple miles from my job site, newly remodeled rooms, great weekly prices and a friendly staff. especially the young lady that checked me in the morning. she told me that they will be changing to red roof first week of december and they were going to add more items to the breakfast. only the more reason for me to come back in January when my job at the plant starts back up.

Inexpensive and quiet

As being a truck driver, finding a hotel with truck parking is hard to come by. This hotel has a gated, secure truck parking area where no cars are allowed to be. The room was clean. Easy access to the parking lot. The front desk clerk was very nice and easy to get along with. The overall look of the hotel and the property was very clean and well organized. I wasn't too pleased with the "breakfast" though. The choices were coffee or juice, and mini donuts (chocolate covered or powdered) and bread for toast. That was more like a snack. Not something to be relied upon for a big day of driving ahead of you.

Needs an update, but otherwise not bad

Hotel staff was extremely courteous, such as when we called on the phone at midnight, in need of directions, and when we needed help finding a parking spot (the lot was full). The desk agent came out to look around and help us, which impressed me. Whatever they're paying him, it's not enough. Doors open into an interior hallway, not onto the parking lot or a balcony; I like this, as it is more secure. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I fell asleep immediately. The water in the tub turned hot quickly, though I did get an initial blast of cold from the shower head because I didn't figure out how to aim it away at first. The wifi connected quickly and worked well. The A/C was fine. Pretty much everything we used was fine. There were only two negative aspects, and they're sort of major points for an $86 stay (tax incl.). The first is that the sink is made of some material (not ceramic) that's coated with a cheap plastic made to resemble marble. It must be old, because the plastic coating is cracked in many places, and has come off in others. The sink works just fine; don't get me wrong, but no one wants to arrive at a motel after a 7-8 hour drive, walk into the bathroom to freshen up, and see a cracked, peeling sink. The second is that the breakfast is REALLY skimpy: lukewarm water or iced, orange-alike drink (I doubt it's juice), bread with toast & Country Crock, and mini doughnuts. It's not bad, but I've had better at hotels in this price range in the Houston area. I guess I was just unlucky enough to have to drive during the universities' graduation week. There was also a strong stench of cigarette smoke shortly after the entry into the interior hall, but the room was fine, so that's not a big deal for me. Honestly, the clerks' service was above and beyond the call of duty (it wasn't just what I mentioned) so that made up for a lot of the more superficial nits and picks. I would recommend this place, albeit not with much enthusiasm, and may well stay again, depending on how things are like the next time I travel to Houston.

Accpetable if you need to be in this area

Stayed at this hotel only because it was close to where I had an early meeting the next day. Located just off of the highway in a not so great area of the city. Property is dated, and the parking lot is a bit dark at night. The room was clean and served its purpose, but certainly nothing fancy. If you need to stay in this area, then it will do. If you don't need to stay in the area, I would recommend going elsewhere.
