Decent, clean. Would stay again.
April 29, 2019

Room was clean. Check in was fast and courteous. Price was decent. Not great, but decent. Ice machines were all ALL broken. Even though our room faced the interstate it wasn't noisy enough to keep us up. The AC wasn't loud and worked fine. They received our little dog with no complaints and no extra fee. No breakfast, but a 10% discount at Denny's which is on the same property.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Rickey "the general manager" is the best!
April 20, 2019

Thursday night my family and I got us a hotel room under my name at the Red Roof Inn Tucson South - Airport. This hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Friday morning my mom and I had two doctor's appointments where we needed to go see our endocrinologists near the neighborhood and the Red Roof Inn was close by. When my family and I got there, I had to go to the office, because the door was locked so I had to go inside in the window that way I can check-in. The girl "I don't remember what's her name" she was very nice. She gave my family and I a room on the second floor which was awesome because we have never been placed on a second floor before but we always been put on the first floor. Our room was really nice except the bathtub was pretty dirty but other than that, it was great! Room 220. The room had 2 beds non-smoking and a really nice Panasonic Flat-Screen TV including Lodgenet Extra at the Movies hosted by Mario Lopez. This show is about they are showing movies that are now playing in your hotel room. My family and I had a really good night's sleep. The next day we checked-out of our hotel room. I've never seen a different manager that's now the manager at the Red Roof Inn his name was Rickey and he was the BEST! I am so sad that Kevin is not working there anymore but Rickey is one of the best "general manager" I've ever seen. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends down in Douglas, Arizona if they ever need a place to stay. My family and I would definitely come back again very soon. Thank you, Rickey and staff at the Red Roof Inn Tucson South - Airport.

Dirty and Noisy!
March 15, 2019

This place is definitely one of the worst motels I've stayed at in a long time. It was so filthy, especially the bathroom! It left our socks black on the bottom, easy to see why. Housekeeping didn't even bother cleaning our room on one of the days, and I had to wait in a long line at the lobby for replacement towels because of it. Don't bother calling the front desk, they won't answer. The hotel is located right next to the highway AND train tracks, which equates to constant noise day and night. There is a huge gap under the door which means you can also hear every single person and car door outside. If you're on the first floor you will get to enjoy every step that the person above you takes as well. Needless to say, we got very little sleep during our 4 night stay. There is no microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, or hair dryer either. I am an experienced budget travel, and I know what to expect in this price range. Even with a discounted rate through HW, this motel left us disappointed in every way. If I hadn't prepaid, I would have left after the first night. Stay far away from this place!

March 11, 2019

My husband and I stayed five (5) nights at the Red Roof Inn South in Tucson, AZ. This property was chosen for its proximity to a big bridge tournament, and it was an easy short walk to the playing site. We had nice mountain views from our second floor room – and that is where the positives end. Entering our room, I saw right away a big collection of splotches on the mirror (see photo). We called the desk and the desk clerk (not housekeeper) came up with Windex and paper towel and cleaned it. The bathroom was not clean either – dirt in all corners and a big hairball hanging off the pipe that goes from toilet to wall. When that did not improve after two days, I cleaned it myself, and used hotel towels to wipe out the corners. On our final full day, Saturday, the room was not made up when we returned from bridge at 5:30 PM. The housekeeper (Rebecca) told the clerk she would not go in because the Privacy card was in the door. This was not accurate – we specifically removed the Privacy sign when leaving to play cards, and that sign was OFF our door from 1:30 to 5:30 PM. The keypad on the front door was not secure – I could easily lift it a couple of inches away from the wood. Worst, however, was the broken swimming pool heater. We were told it had been broken for quite some time and there are no plans to fix it. Red Roof does not tell you this when booking. What a shame, as the pool area is very pretty, with palm trees and nice outdoor furniture (see photo). This relaxing area should be a leading asset to the property, rather than a drawback. (I have severe arthritis and always look for a heated pool when booking a property.) Bottom line: we will not stay here again, and will warn others away from Red Roof.

Spartan, minimalist motel
March 05, 2019

I've stayed at Red Roof Inns many times on the East coast, but not recently. This hotel is two star at best. Beds are average, room was kept clean, good WiFi and modest size flatscreen. Those are the plusses. Negatives include small rooms, old style cool/heat system, inconsistent room service (the case of the missing towels and why only one bed was made), minimal bathroom amenities, thin sheets, skimpy pillows, little effort put into landscaping or litter control. How do you have a soda machine in the lobby and not one diet drink choice? No breakfast...but there was a Denny's attached to the lobby. It was OK for two guys, but I would not recommend woman book a room. Door security was not very precise and you could easily not get a good closure. Nothing in the neighborhood is interesting. Two fast food burger joints. Other vendors like a drug store - a long drive. The Air Force likes to do fighter jet tests in the skies over this part of Tucson, so it can be loud at times. Hotel attracts "budget" travelers, for the Expo center which is 600 feet across the parking lots.
