Maria at the front desk was super nice and helpful. She made us feel WELCOME. The room was clean and comfortable and affordable. We would recommend this little gem. If your in the area and need a place to sleep go Red Roof.

We have stayed in a lot of hotels in Monterey but this one by far is the best. Super clean huge rooms.. Great service up front. If you have a big family choose this hotel. Very close to shopping we loved it

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Mary at the front desk is the worst! she's like an aunt but replace the a with a C! I traveled 3.5 hours to get there and it was the worst hotel experience. I went to the room (didn't even bring my luggage up yet) and it smelled like mold the walls looked dirty and the paint was peeling everywhere. The room looked NOTHING like the photos so I immediately went downstairs and asked to cancel. Mary said I would be able to cancel my room just to call the third party company I paid with. I did that and when it came down to it Mary when back on her word! I didn't even bring my luggage upstairs yet they wanted me to pay for the room?! That's how you know the business isn't worth anything when they try to make you pay anyway because they know their establishment is a SCAM!!! Even the "owner" of the place wasn't trying to help me out. I waited to speak with the third party I booked with for 2 HOURS just for Mary to back out of it. This place is NOT LEGITIMATE and I DO NOT RECOMMEND! You can try carmel mission inn which is BEAUTIFUL! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME BOOKING WITH THIS PLACE!!!!

Looks can be deceiving

We stayed here for two nights celebrating our anniversary. Upon opening the room, we were impressed with the spacious layout and jucuzzi tub. The room smelled strongly of bleach but soon faded after a bit. Appeared to have been remodeled but furniture is mix matched and has stains on it. Beds were rock hard. Stains on curtains, bathroom sink wouldn’t drain when we poured out a soda, blinds broke when I closed them and jucuzzi tub was a pain to say the least. It is hard to get it to come on as the control panel has lights burned out on it, when you do get it on, it then turns off immediately. Flashes several codes at you that you have no idea what they mean. Luckily after playing with it for several minutes we were able to get it to stay on. Air conditioner works great though. $300/night is way too high for what you get.

High Times

Check in was easy, lady in office was very nice, plus she has a super cute dog. Got to our room 201 king bed with balcony. Noticed the balcony next to ours a young women was leaning over the railing, thought ok she should put more clothes on, but who am I right? Anyway, up the stairs to our room we go. Opening up the door leads you to a big room, with another door that opens to the balcony. Bathroom had a nice tub too. We had our dogs with us and they instantly started acting weird. Maybe a contact high from all the pot smoking from downstairs and next to us ? Anyway, I forgot to sign my paper so I had to walk back down to the office and j noticed lots of people just sitting in their cars, watching me walk made me very uncomfortable. Back in the room we ordered take out and had to eat listening to the lady next door “entertain” a guest. Ugh!!! I’ve read other reviews saying possible adult activities here and I believe it. Maybe a residential hotel as well. Will not be back. 3 stars for big room, big tub, and nice office lady.
