The place is dirty, no Covid measures, terrible staff, untrained /unwilling to help and no empathic manager

Place was dirty, the manager booked us in and “forgot” to mention that even though their 3rd party company we booked with offered us a sleeping accommodation for 2 adults and 2 kids as a room with a master bedroom and a couch/sleeper it was their policy that the couch wasn’t to be used as a bed but only as a couch. The pull out bed has a dirty mattress that was very deteriorated, ripped and even had a long nail on it. When we complain the manager was very rude, interrupted us when we try to speak and then called the cops cause we told her she fail to mention her policy when she booked us in knowing we had 4 people and her “policy” says we can’t use the couch/bed as a accommodation to sleep people in. So it’s ok to take out money but not to listen to our complain or even try to fix the situation for us. I don’t know what kind of people this lady deal with on a daily basis but she has no customer service skills. I had to drive 4 more hours to be able to come back home with a 2 year old and a 12 year old. Mind you I drove 4 hours to get there. If this is how Red Roof inn conduct business with paying customers I don’t want to imagine how they treat their employees to have them take it on their customers. They need to clean the place, re train their employees and get managers that have an idea on how to help their customers. If I could give it 0 starts I would. Don’t book here it’s a terrible place to stay.

Most Filthy Hotel I've ever Stayed at in my whole life.

Sink was full of fruit flies, no matter how many I killed they kept appearing (talking between 10-15 every night). Entire floor was sticky, filthy, and smelled like stinky old mop water. Door looked like it had been kicked in at some point, and the latch was also broken off. Towels had hair on them. Shower had "shaved" hair all up the wall. Toilet seat connected on only one side causing it to slide all over. The AC unit and paintjob looked like they havent been serviced in over 10 yrs. AC smelled of Mold. Room clock wasnt working. Comforter had holes burned in it and I noticed what looked like a couple small blood stains on the sheets. The rest of the property looked very beat up, the ground was filthy everywhere, there was food and dumped drinks on the ground (and stayed there all weekend). Literally everything that coulda been wrong with this room was, and I'm NOT someone who complains about things easily, I hate complaining. I was very busy my whole trip and exhausted and only wanted to sleep so I decided to deal with it and not to complain until checkout. Boy was that a mistake. Right when I said I had some issues the front desk manager responded with "There's nothing we will do for you". The staff was very nice and professional but I can tell they must get a LOT of complaints because they had an excuse for everything I listed, even defending the sticky smelly floor and the bugs, even after I showed them videos! Basically telling me I didnt complain enough, shoulda did it at checkin, or went to another hotel. They did offer me a 15% off coupon for a future stay at any red roof but there's literally no way I am ever staying at any redroof inn again, especially not this one. I'd rather sleep in my car. So there ya go. If you want a filthy hotel that appears to have zero upkeep, does the bare minimum, and puts no money into its maintenance, and a staff so used to complaints that nothing you say no will get an ounce of empathy or understanding, (unless you complain immediately upon checkin otherwise its your fault for not speaking up) this is the place for you, the Holiday Inn across the street was 100 dollars more a night but my goodness that woulda been BEYOND worth it.


We booked to stay two nights and couldn’t even tolerate one. Even though this place allows pets, not worth it. Our dog instantly was scratching at themselves walking into the room. Our dog hid under the table and decided to go into their crate for the time spent in the room. The room was not mopped and there’s no way the room was deep cleaned (COVID style). It looks like someone did a surface wipe on some areas and changed linens and moved on. Lights in the room were not working either. Such a dark and dirty place. I added photos for some important areas and what I remembered to capture (sink, tissue, ironing board, couch that’s not presented on the online photos, and the light switch on and not working). Some guests with a large group of children were running around late into the night; playing tag, spraying each other with water, etc. noisy as ever outside in the grassy area near the empty pool. We ended up leaving the next day. The one star is there only because I’m not allowed to leave a “0.”

Wish I had more time

Carla and the crew were very friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and very close to beach also a lot of shops near by as well as restaurants. Hopefully we will be back very very soon. Thanks again for everything 🙂

Amazing Customer Service

I wanna thank Carla and the rest of the team for their wonderful customer service on 2/25/2021. Their an amazing team that work together and once I’m back in Wilmington filming again I’ll be sure to book my stay with Redroof Inn. Thank you again!
