I stayed 2 nights with the red roof. housekeeping "cleaned my room" (meaning, they left new soap on the sink and took out my trash..) my beds were not made.. i had no towels. I asked a young lady cleaning a room a few doors down from me if i could borrow some towels and she states "NO IM SORRY I NEED THESE FOR MY ROOMS YOU NEED TO DIAL 0" I could not believe it. I travel often and never have i been told i needed to call front desk for towels when clearly they have the items right there. wouldnt it be considered better customer care if the housekeeper was to dial 0 and restock? i called front desk and spoke with a melissa who stated i would need to come down for the towels... again.. my jaw dropped. When i finally arrive to the front desk melissa hands me 1 .. unusually small... towel. Im not a small woman. I asked for a larger towel and she rudely stated "thats the largest we have if your patient housekeeping will get to your room with your towels... we are extremely busy but we will get to everyone as soon as we can..." during the time it took the "customer service representative" to tell me to be patient and ill get it when i get it a very sweet young lady hands be a stack of 4 large towels and a variety of smaller towels and apologizes for the inconvience... said she overheard the conversation and works in laundry so it was no problem" i believe her name to be ashley.. your front desk should learn a lesson or two when it comes to respect and lack of compassion for the guests. i would like to thank the young lady for turning what was becoming a very disappointing night back around and reminding me there is still people who actually care about their customers.

Stayed here to meet visiting family members. Great location downtown. Had a Superior king room which was comfortable. My only complaint is that instead of a desk, there could be a chair or loveseat but that is minor. Staff was very nice. There is free onsite parking as long as you are staying there. Beware...you will get towed and signs are posted.

Fantastic prices for this area, you can get two rooms here for the price of one any where else. Average view from rooms. Great daily room service, and rooms are well-sized. In the room with two double beds I got there was no mini-fridge or any other added accessories. Beds were really only big enough for one adult so don't book this room for more than two adults. Air conditioner was very good and not too noisy. Shower had great pressure but there was no fan in the bathroom. In the room with one king bed, it also had a mini fridge and was quite a bit nicer. Bed was very very comfortable and bathroom was nice. Smelled lovely to walk into. The room key cards were exceptionally difficult and would not work for at least the first four times, and I required someone to come up and help me once. Very great being walking distance to all local attractions including the river walk and the Alamo. It took less than 10 minutes to get to both of those, which was good meaning there's no need for a car or to pay for parking. Overall, it was great considering the price, definitely recommend.

The location of this Red Roof is not anywhere near the River walk its actually about a 15-20 minute walk away. Its right next to a extremely noisy highway (thankfully we were on the opposite side). I usually stay at the Indigo on the river walk but unfortunately the rooms were booked weeks before memorial day so we stayed here. Since this red roof was the only one in San Antonio with available rooms I was kind of relieved I might save some money since Indigo is kind of pricey. But boy was I wrong! The 2 night stay was actually almost $350 with tax, when you get to this place they tack on other ridiculous charges like parking and safe usages. At the end I ended up paying as much as I would on the river in a nice hotel. First day there, my daughter was showering and the tub was not draining the water out at the same time the toilet overflowed!. So she had to get out of the shower and walk in toilet water notify me of this. I immediately called the front desk and I was told someone would be up ASAP . Well no one ever showed up and I only had 2 bath towels in the room to soak up all the toilet water with! In a room with 5 people! 1 hour later I went down to the front desk and had to demand someone to go up and fix all the mess In the room. they looked at me like they didn't know anything about it. Finally we got back from the 20 minute walk to the river and it was all fixed. That same night before bed I noticed a strong urine smell coming from the carpet. It was really damp and sticky I had to lay a blanket down so we wouldn't step on it. I broke out in a rash on my neck from the cheap fabric they use as blankets and the whole time I heard screaming and yelling up and down the hallways all night. In conclusion this hotel is HORRIBLE EXPENSIVE AND DISGUSTING, It says "renovated" on the website but I highly doubt they have done a single thing to this this place. The only good thing about this hotel is their covered parking lot (in hot weather is great) coffee and the pool. That by the way really needs some cleaning oh and minus the women my husband and I complained about many times for SMOKING MARIJUANA! Literally this is all! I would never recommend nor go back even if it was a free stay.

I stayed here because I wanted to be within walking distance to the convention center for a conference and I was on my own so couldn't afford to split a room with someone. It was tolerable. I had to kill a water bug with my shoe in my room. Yuck. Housekeeping talked at the top of their lungs in the morning. They opened the bolts on the doors and let the doors bang!!! really loudly while I was taking a shower one morning when I was able to sleep in until 9am. That was really inconsiderate and loud considering some people might be trying to, I don't know, VACATION near the RIVERWALK?
