Very nice & very busy!

We were quite pleased with our stay here. The room was one of the kings with the microwave and fridge in it so those amenities were nice to have for the week. Not to mention the extra space. One of the best things about the Red Roof brand is that pets stay free so that's why we didn't hesitate to choose this one over another hotel closer to the beach. Besides, the drive to the beach really wasn't that bad. We never made it to the Bay so I can't say for sure what that journey is like, but the drive to VA Beach was easy even for the peak of summer. So I would definitely say this hotel was in a good location. Out of the way but still convenient. It was also right down the road from the mall, a ton of yummy restaurants, and a couple movie theatres. When we go back to VA Beach, we will definitely be staying here again. Just be sure you book early because they were sold out the ENTIRE time we were there! Also, I have to give a shout out to Karen at the front desk. She was light hearted and patient with us as our trip got a bit messed up by our own doing so she worked with us to fix it and she was awesome!

Fantastic Staff

Room was clean, staff was wonderful. Housekeeping found a left behind belonging (Sheca is amazing!) and the Manager Kevin had it shipped out the next day and better packaged than it was originally! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone needing a close and clean place.

I've had multiple stays at this location over the past 5 years. Conveniently located, priced great, CLEAN, and PET Friendly! Most of all, enjoyed the staff & management; but especially Ronnie Holmes & Karen, who have always gone above and beyond expectations in being accommodating

We found a decent place for senior citizens here

We were in town for a family event and needed a conveniently located place to stay without displacing family members. This Red Roof Inn was just right for everything we had to do. Close to shopping and dining. Close to the church and meeting place we were attending, and a comfortable room to stay in. We got the Superior King room with handicap access features on the first floor and were very content with it. The bathroom did look as though it needed the tile floor cleaned, but don't know if it did because it wasn't an issue for us. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room, but we didn't use them. The bed had clean sheets and the mattress, although slightly lumpy but thick, was comfortable and we slept well. Worn but almost like a feather bed. The pillows were nice, too. Not too thick or thin. Nothing special, but just comfy. The most important thing, though, was the first impression we had when we found that we would be very late checking in because of heavy holiday traffic beginning on Friday morning, the 30th of June. We called the inn and spoke with Ronnie, who kindly made sure that we would have a handicap-accessible room on the first floor. True to his word, when we arrived more than 3 hours past the check-in time, he had the room available. Then the problem we had with our bank account arose. We didn't have the full amount of the room charges so the credit card was declined. Ronnie deftly went on to help the other guests check in while we tried to contact family members who could help us. When we did contact our daughter, Ronnie kept the room available although he was constantly answering calls for reservations and handling other guests' requests. We were grateful for his quiet, tactful understanding. We soon had our issue resolved. Later, when we asked that the charge paid by our daughter be refunded and our own card be charged, Sandra, Ronnie's replacement, said that it would be handled the next day by Nicole. Sure enough, Nicole followed through and when we checked out on Sunday morning gave us the final charge sheet showing the refund and our payment. This is an older property for sure, but the other guests were mostly young families with young children and there was no noise at any time. Very courteous folks and well-behaved children. In fact, one couple had their dogs who were also well-behaved and didn't make any noise at all. Not perfect, but good enough if you don't need a palace to stay in. Well-managed with great customer service. We'll stay here again on our next visit if they aren't booked up.
