I have been staying here 4 nights a week for over two years. The location is perfect. Located on I-10 exit 7. Fifteen minutes from the shopping malls or most anywhere in town. Walking distance from Cracker Barrel, Hardee's, Waffle House, McDonald's, Sonny's BBQ, Ruby Tuesday etc...Shell gas st as tin next door. The rooms have been totally renovated and all new furnishings including beds.

The red roof inn is a very convenient property with easy access to I-10 and numerous restaurants . The rate is reasonable and the pool was very well maintained . They offer a pleasant continental breakfast that is great for us on the go professionals .

Too bad zero stars isn't an option for review. This place is horrible! We canceled our reservation at another hotel for this room after our Team Mom for son's baseball team arranged a "group rate" of $99 a night. I called and spoke with TJ Patel the GM. He quoted me the $99 rate and accepted my reservation for one night providing me with a confirmation number and a total of $109 (apprx) which I secured with my debit card. Upon arrival for check-in (11 pm at night) the clerk advised me the price for my stay would be $177.83 for one night and that they would not honor the $99 rate because I only booked one night. I explained our team arrangement and told her I was never told we had to book 2 nights nor did TJ tell me this and he was the one who quoted me the price and took my reservation. They refused to honor their price and the clerk said TJ would be in at 9am if I wanted to discuss it and agreed not to process the payment until the morning after I spoke with TJ. We went up to our room (#306) and at first believed someone was in there because the TV was on and it smelled like stale cigarette smoke (supposed to be a non-smoking room). The hotel was sold out, as was town, due to the holiday weekend. The room was filthy. The vinyl floor was dirty turning our feet black and there were "body hairs" on the bathroom floor. We were stuck having to accept a grotesque, filthy room or drive 2 hours back home. We should have drove back. The next morning I promptly arrived at the front desk at 9am and asked for TJ believing he would honor his rate. The clerk (same from night before) stated he wasn't in yet but "should be in 15-20 minutes". Unable to wait she told me I could always come back to talk to him if I wanted to which my wife said "Oh no. We will never be back". I left my phone number for TJ who several hours later called and left me a message saying there was "nothing" that he could do and I would be charged $1559.49 plus tax. I spoke with our Team Mom who said that it was never discussed or agreed upon that the rate was dependent on a 2 night reservation. I will be disputing the charge with my bank. I will say that even if the room was $99 it would have been $99 too much. The room was disgusting! Do you and your family a favor and take your money elsewhere.

The rooms are amazing clean rooms beds are comfortable and brand new rooms as well... staff is amazing and will go above and beyond to help the guest pool nice and clean !!!! It was a wonderful stay thanks red roof

If I could give negative 10 stars, I would. My parents, my brother and his wife, and I stayed at this Red Roof Inn (3 separate rooms) when we were in Pensacola for my late aunt's funeral services. There are extreme safety and security issues at this motel. I would never stay here again. We checked out a day early and left for Jacksonville to avoid staying another whole night at this property. Although manager TJ stated multiple times to me that rooms are never ever entered with the "do not disturb" sign in place, my rooms (two different rooms) were definitely entered more than once while I was out of the room. On the morning we were supposed to check out, I had packed most of my belongings and left them by the door of my room 222- backpack, a roller bag, two soft briefcase-type bags with important documents and papers inside, two coolers, a plastic grass bag with pillows in it. I had left a large blue bath towel and an undergarment hanging to dry on the clothes rack. The "do not disturb" sign was in place. I threw the deadbolt and also the upper lock preventing entry, exited through the adjoining room door (which was my parents' room) and then drove my dad to urgent care. When we returned from urgent care, my mom told me (her exact words) that there had been unexpected visitors to their room. Two guys had entered my parents' room while my 86-year-old mom was there alone with their cat - and then entered MY room through the adjoining door- they then carted all of my belongings into my parents' room, including the blue towel and undergarment (thong underwear). Feeling violated doesn't even begin to describe it. Mom said that the guys told her that "it was to avoid being charged for an extra night". My dad and I were delayed returning from the urgent care center and already knew we might be into the next night's charges because we had missed the checkout time. I never would have left important things unattended in the room out of view of my mom had I known that anyone would be entering my room THROUGH my parents' room. They could've called my dad and asked first if we would like for them to save us the charge. If they needed the room for another incoming guest, still they should have asked before just entering and removing my belongings. I would've rather paid the extra night than have had two guys enter my room with the deadbolt on, upper lock on, "do not disturb" sign out and things not totally packed and hanging to dry - plus which manager TJ had said multiple times that NOBODY from the motel EVER enters the rooms when the "do not disturb" sign is out. I also cannot explain the reason that the security camera tapes in the timeframes reviewed by the Pensacola sheriff deputy Miguel Felan III did not show anyone but myself, my cousin and the manager entering my motel room 206 during my stay- but I also cannot explain why a printed picture of me with my late aunt along with a folder from my uncle Marvin's memorial service from 2011, which were on the countertop in a nice dry place when I left the room, were found UNDERNEATH a cooler on the air conditioning unit when I returned to my room. There's no way I left the picture and the folder from the memorial service (two items not valuable to anyone but my family, yet irreplaceable and important to protect) underneath a cooler on a damp surface- but manager TJ denies to the hilt that anyone was in my room. It's a mystery. There was money missing as well- $250 that was meant to be given to the pastor for the funeral service- but I am far more concerned about the violation of privacy and unauthorized entry than I am about the money. To me, these instances are home invasions. When you are staying in a motel, that is your home- and with the exception of an emergency (water leak, fire, suspected medical event or whatever), I see no reason that anyone should enter the room when the sign is out. When I was reporting that the picture and folder had been removed from the countertop and found under the cooler, manager TJ was combative and frustrated with my questions and my attempt to find out what had happened- no concern whatsoever or apologies for the trouble- just defensiveness and anger. There are multiple places to eat and also a Shell station with a convenience store within walking distance of this motel. The ice machine always had ice and the middle-of-the-night front desk attendant Greg and front desk attendants Marilyn and Wendy are super friendly and helpful- but the proximity of ice / convenience store / food options and the kindness of the support staff is not enough to make up for these invasions of privacy into our rooms - invasions that were rampant and frequent and totally excused by management. There are many other more expensive but far safer and respectful-to-guests options for motels in this immediate area - a Hampton Inn literally within view from the front doors of this Red Roof - also a Holiday Inn Express right across the road. No need to stay here. AVOID. I stayed here years ago with manager Hari and it was a totally different experience - there is an extremely positive review reflecting this. This new review is updated to reflect my most recent experience with this property - things have changed markedly since Hari left.
