Great Service

I was very impressed with this hotel. The service was friendly and quick, the room was clean, and I enjoyed my time while I was there. It may have been my first time at one of these hotels, but I think I'll be coming here more often.

I honestly wish I could give it zero stars

I really don't write negative reviews because I can generally find something positive, but this is the exception. I was beyond disappointed by this Red Roof property. I've stayed in Red Roof Inns before and they were clean and pleasant. This place should have it's Red Roof Branding removed, as it gives Red Roof Inn a bad reputation. I'm 100 percent serious that Red Roof Inn should look into removing this property or removing the franchisee's license. Let me start this by saying we arrived late at night. The room was large but you could smell the dust in the room. When we got up in the morning, we were taken back by just how filthy the room was. There was a build up of dust on everything. The carpet was discolored, especially by the mini-fridge. The carpet was nasty, and had ]so much dirt, grim and other things on it that our feet became instantly black. The free breakfast from 7-10 sounded good when it was explained to us by the overnight staff. When we got downstairs at 9:30 everything was gone, except 2 biscuits, half cup of eggs, a bagel and cereal. They usually offer biscuits and gravy, eggs, juice, milk, bread, bagels, waffles, and sausage. We asked if there they were going put more out since there was 30 minutes left for breakfast. We were told that nothing else was going to be made and we would have to feed our kids and us on what was left, and the hotel clerk then grabbed some of the food and started eating it leaving us with even less to feed ourselves with. My wife got the last 2 biscuits and the last cup of gravy and eggs and we fed our kids. I tried to pour my son a glass of milk but it was empty and wasn't refilled. My wife tried to fill some cups with juice instead to find the juice was empty and would not be refilled. We were able to fed our kids with what we could come up with. As soon as we were done we went to the room and packed our stuff and left. Given a choice to sleep in this hotel again or sleep in the car, I would gladly sleep in a car for peace of mind and also to save my hard earned cash. I could go on with this negative review but I want to forget this place entirely.

Hotel was very easy to get to. The front desk for check in was great. The room when you first go in was very impressive. There was a couch and a table, a small table with two chairs, a desk and everything else standard. The floors were hardwood and not carpet. At first I thought it was a good thing but carpet is better. They don't clean the floor everyday. My feet were dirty even after a shower. The bed was okay and the pillows were small but they were comfortable. There was no pen and paper on the desk and there were no tissues or hand cream. The bathroom was a little dated but it worked. Hot water felt good. We had flies and little gnat like creatures flying around. My husband killed about four. We did stay for two nights but luckily we weren't in the room that much. Very quiet, could not hear the other guests. Hotel was close to food and entertainment.

AN EASY PLACE TO STAY

It is an easy place to get to. It can be seen from the bypass. As I often travel north and south on US 41, this place came into my sights as I was very tired and it worked out to be a nice late night oasis to stop and rest. Check-in was easy and friendly. I always think of it as a stop, if I need it.

Clean Rooms

After the fiasco last year with my reservations, I was concerned that the reservations I made for this year would not be all that great, despite the reassurance by the hotel chain and the manager of the hotel in Vincennes. However, the service was good and the staff polite and professional. They have gotten rid of the carpeting and put down laminate flooring in the rooms since last year which to me means that the room is cleaner. We got the room we needed (2 queen beds on ground floor). There was a party outside, but the noise level dropped at 9 and stopped at 10. The breakfast was fine, not fancy but fine with several choices of drinks, some hot items, yogurt, and bakery/bread items. Over all I was satisfied with the experience, and will stay there again next year.
