What I expected lol
October 21, 2017

A family member made the reservations. And I was worried about staying here. But after seeing the pictures online I felt A little better. Until we checked in. We was double charged because the front desk girl didn't know what she was doing. And once we got into the room the kids didn't want to take their shoes off because the floors was so dirty. So I took 1 of the 2 wash clothes out of the bathroom and cleaned the bathtub and the floors with shampoo and a washcloth. Had to call the front desk for more towels and wash clothes. Because 4 people can't use 2 towels. Pulled the tops sheet down on the beds and both beds had stained sheets. For $109 we could have stayed at a much better hotel with a breakfast buffet. I think for the money the rooms should have been clean. The only positive thing about this hotel is it's close to the ark encounter.

Disappointed in our stay at Red Roof Inn, Dry Ridge, Kentucky
October 13, 2017

We recently stayed 2 nights at Red Roof Inn when we were visiting The Ark. The room had recently been renovated and looked nice. It was clean as well. But there were several issues that we experienced. The door had a gap at the bottom so there was a lot of noise from the hallway. Doors shutting were loud, and conversations seemed as if they were in the room with you. It's difficult sleeping when other guests are going down a long hallway to get coffee in the area of the front desk at 4 am. There are no coffee pots in the rooms. This could have been alleviated had there been. There was a microwave and refrigerator, it didn't make sense not to have a coffee pot in room. The keyless entry was new, there had been a deadbolt lock on the door previously. The deadbolt was still there but no longer worked, it had been replaced by a chain. A safety issue that I noticed was the door at the end of the hallway was propped open by a rock. I guess that was so guests could come in that door but I felt someone should have locked the door at least by midnight. The last issue that we experienced was ridiculous in my opinion. The room above ours were rolling the desk chair from one end of their room to the other crashing into the doors/walls. The noise was so bad because the floors and walls are extremely thin. They were stomping across the floor making it difficult to sleep. It was so annoying that I called the front desk. We had to continue calling the desk for quite a while before they could get them to stop. After the fifth call I asked what was going to happen if they didn't stop. It was 1:30 am by this point, the desk clerk said they would have to call the police. I ask him to go ahead and call them. Finally they stopped. After they woke us up, I couldn't get back to sleep, it was 3:20 am the last time I looked at the clock. My alarm was set for 6:30 am. With 3 hours sleep, I drove 6 hours home. It's sad to pay for a room and experience what we did, especially the second night with the kids up above us. I would not recommend staying at the red roof inn.

Very impressionable

The room wasn't what we expected. The room was cleaned, and we loved the flooring, tile which is much better that the with carpet. The room smelled clean as we walked in. Would definitely stay at this motel again.

Great place

We stayed here for 1 night and it was perfect. The hotel is very clean. Our room was gorgeous! The staff is incredibly friendly. Great location to local attractions. Nice variety of restaurants too. I highly recommend this hotel for everyone

on the way to Gatlinburg

The hotel was nothing special , but it was clean and had the basics. I would like to say that the young lady at the front desk, Morgan, was excellent. She had a delightful personality, was helpful in telling us what was in the area and even held the door for us as we carried our bags in! That's rare even at much more upscale hotels. Someone in management should notice that she is a real asset to a low end budget hotel and be thankful that they have such a responsible employee!
