Worst hotel I've ever stayed in (and that's saying something!)

I was amazed that a Red Roof Inn could be so terrible. The hotel, on the official website advertised as "100% smoke-free," gave me a room that reeked of smoke. When I checked in, the window was wide-open (no screen), probably to get rid of the smoke smell. No success there. And there was an ashtray! No glasses of any kind to have a drink of water. No clock. Less than 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Cigarette burns and stains on the bedding. Mold in the shower. A sink that barely drained. NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER! (even after running the water for 30 minutes). At midnight a fight broke out in a nearby room. Yelling and loud noises. At 2:30, loud, pulsating music began in a room nearby. No phone to call the front desk. I tried calling on my cell the number for the hotel on the Hotwire confirmation page. Nobody picked up. I was unable to sleep half the night. When checking in, the clerk was not wearing a mask. When I went to check out, there was nobody working at the desk. I had to wait and wait for someone to show up. I don't care about lots of amenities at a hotel. But I expect to be able to sleep and take at least a tepid (not ice-cold) shower.

Last October they seemed to care and take precautions such as giving out hand sanitizer, not cleaning the room during the visit (per COVID protocol for hotels), having secure locks on doors, and not charging for two dogs. Front desk was curt, had trouble listening when i wanted to switch credit card (he charged the one on file despite me asking to bill to another - he did credit me back but....). There were several families that appeared to be staying near the office, and partying (with no response from management). Grounds were littered with cigarette butts. Towels were thin. There was some sort of health crisis on Saturday night with someone dying - while management is not responsible for this, we got the feeling they are renting rooms either by the hour or somehow attracting questionable folks. When I got to the desk, the person told me since I had two dogs, it was 'new policy' to charge for the second - back in October 2020 this was not so and the website for the hotel says "No charge for two well behaved pets". I will say the wifi was good as was the microwave - the refrigerator froze all my food and soda. I have been coming to this Red Roof since at least 2009 and have never felt unsafe nor have I never wanted to come back. PS the safe does not work but I was still charged

HORRIBLE SUPERVISOR DIDNT CARE OR HELP

I experienced multiple issues during my 5 day stay and gave the supervisor at the Red Roof Inn many chances to fix this but they ignored me. I called the front desk numerous times (screenshot attached) about these issues. 1) The microwave was dirty, unsanitary, and unusable. I paid for a room with a microwave and was not able to use it. (see picture). 2) The fridge stopped working shortly after checking in. When I checked in, the fridge was cool. On Tuesday morning, I opened the fridge and it was warm. I purchased perishable groceries for my 5 day stay and it all went bad. I called the front desk and no one cared or even offered to replace it. It is now Thursday evening and I still don’t have a replacement. I gave a number for the supervisor to call and they did not call. The next day I called and was told the supervisor was above the office yet still could not assist with this issue. Today I called and same thing. I paid for a room with a fridge and was not able to use it and also paid for groceries that went to waste because of the fridge. 3) The room says 100% smoke-free, yet reeked of cigarette smoke. I asked for another room and that room smelled even worse. I suffer from asthma and the secondhand smoke was a bad trigger for me during my stay. My chest is extremely tight and hurts to breathe. Not even the air freshener could mask the smell. As a result, I will have to get a breathing treatment done to help clear my lungs. 4) There was water leaking under the sink and caused me to slip (see picture) 5) Walls had bodily fluids and stains on it (see picture) 6) Bedding had hair and makeup in it (see picture) 7) Towels were not clean (see picture) 8) sink was dirty, had some kind of sludge on it 9) the toilet paper was dirty. This is not the first few pieces of paper this was a stain that was all the way in the middle of the toilet paper. I’m guessing something leaked into it Again I called at least three times during my stay and not once did this supervisor call back to rectify these issues. I had a horrible stay and an extremely disappointed. I am planning on checking out at 5AM tomorrow instead of 11 because I cannot take it here anymore. I know the red roof supervisor here didn’t care, but I hope someone else at red roof will care

Reliable & clean with courteous staff

I was hesitant to travel during the pandemic but this place is always top notch clean! The staff are helpful and on top of things, I've never had an issue with a room but I would be comfortable asking for assistance any time of day or night. It's great to have a reliable place so I don't have to impose on my friends when I visit. I've stayed here many times but especially recently have depended on this location!
