Bog-standard Red Roof Inn

Standard Red Roof Inn: clean, helpful desk staff, pet-friendly (always a HUGE plus!), TINY bathroom. No hair dryer, so if you want one, you'll need to bring your own, and new mattresses would be very much appreciated (mine was in dire need of replacement). On the positive side of things, our room contained a fridge and microwave, and the internet worked well. Overall, a perfectly acceptable no-frills motor-inn property.

Wrong room, Take it or Leave it.

Arrived at the hotel to check in, had booked a king smoking room, was told they didn't have a king room and said we didn't book a king room, so we pulled out our itinerary we just happened to have printed out and showed them we had indeed booked a king room through Priceline, then was told that they (Priceline) over booked rooms alot and they only had a queen room and we could take it or leave it, the guy was very rude and uncaring. Room (the queen) was clean, nice house keeping, but can't say much for the staff.

Great overnight with pet

There are very few hotels that have dog walk areas in city. There was plenty of places to do that here. The dog walk area was clean when I arrived, had bags and trash can. However people are lazy slobs. They refuse to cleAn up after their pets. Probably why so many hotels dont want them. Alexander, at the desk was extremely professional and made my stay convenient and worry free. Room was clean, had microwave and refrigerator, coffee maker. Good parking in front of room. Will be back.

Think twice, no, think three times before staying here

On our trip from MN to TX with three small children, we realized that we needed to stop near or in OKC to break up the trip. I booked two rooms on the Red Roof Inn website. Upon arrival, we noticed many issues. The parking lot is poorly lit, and the rooms are very old and dirty. One of the rooms looked like it had male bodily fluids on the floor, along with bedspreads with holes in them from cigarettes, and a bathroom that was unclean. The toilet lid was also interesting, being a completely different size than the actual toilet tank, so you had to be careful sitting anything on it. Upon check out, I showed photos of the room to the front desk worker, who didn't seem to care at all about what was on the floor (?!?) but thought that seven dollars off the room rate was in order for the hole in the bedspread. I then got a generic 'we're sorry' e-mail from the GM. It's very clear to me, based on the conditions of the property that it has been neglected for quite some time. I wouldn't stay here again under any circumstances, and I'm very disappointed at how the management handled my concerns.

Their model pics aren't a true experience. Stay away

I have previously had a great experience with Red Roof Inns. But I'm swearing them away forever after this past weekend. My experience started when I arrived just before midnight. My room was prepaid through a government portal. But on arrival, I was ambushed with a surprise $40 "deposit" that had to be in cash. I wasn't carrying cash, so I had to use their ATM, which had a high $3.50 fee. They then force you to sign an agreement stating they have the right to inspect your room at checkout, among other demands, before you get the cash back. They get to keep the deposit if the room is dirty when you leave. My room was filthy when I arrived. Mystery stains on the chairs and walls. Peeling wood laminate on the wood fixtures. Floor had weird holes under the carpet and the carpet was ripped; it was uneven so much I could barely open the door to get in. Mystery stains in the shower. The toilet was so close to the wall the toiler paper jammed into my arm when I sat down. There were 3 lamps in the room, but only 1 had a working lightbulb. The other two lamps had something screwed into them to prevent a lightbulb being placed in. I was there for 2 nights but only got 1 shampoo. When a hotel is too cheap to replace shampoo on the second morning, it's a sign. The staff was nice enough, I guess. But the whole hotel just looked like an armpit. The Motel 6 next door looked cleaner and well-lit.
