At the red roof inn Chicago 078.. Staff is very friendly .. Salma is awesome! Rooms are nice and clean and smell wonderful.. Many places to explorer.. Good value! Bed is large and very comfortable....

Hotel room was nice and clean. Bed big and comfortable, and everything was fresh. Salma is very nice and made sure I was comfortable. She has some of the best customer service I've encountered. She's also very funny. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone passing through the area. They get 5 stars in my book any day. Make sure you meet Salma she will take good care of you at The front desk.

I read through the reviews prior to booking. The reviews seemed half positive and half negative. Since it was a free (from rewards) and only for one night I rolled the dice. First impression is not good. The hotel has trash scattered bout and trash cans overflowing. Check in went quickly with no issues. The room was interesting. The AC unit was too small for the opening and towels were stuffed around it to fill up space. The room had a peculiar smell we could not trace. The bath towels may have been clean, but they had black stains on them (probably from being stuffed beside the AC unit?). I called the front desk to have them bring two clean towels and Vanessa said I would have to come and get them. When I arrived at the front desk and complained about the towels, she began typing on the computer. This went on for a couple of minutes before I asked "how long until I get clean towels?" Vanessa said as soon as she gets done typing. After another minute I asked " so this is more important than getting me clean towels?". She did not respond. After waiting another minute or so she gave me two towels. And the wifi did not work. As far as the positive reviews on this site, my only conclusion is these are fraudulent. The fact that so many mention staff people by name is highly unusual. There is no way any normal person would give this hotel a 5, unless they owned or worked for the hotel. The hotel is too trashy and dated, the staff is too incompetent for anything other than the lowest rating possible.

Really enjoyed my stay. Staff was very friendly there. My refrigerator went out and their maintenance guy replaced it immediately. The house keeper aja was very kind and help me find my way to many things surrounding the hotel. The house keeper checked on our room frequently making sure she can assist us or give us anything and I appreciated that. Overall stay was a plus and really like how clean my room and smelled.

Gave it to stars because the staff was very friendly, however the room was quite dirty, my socks were black after only a few hours of walking around, the clock radio wasn't plugged in because the electrical outlet was sparking, another electrical outlet was exposed with no plate on it, doors and walls had splattered stains and spills on them, no refrigerator and no hair dryer.... please see photos of our room!!!!
