Adequate for one night

My father booked a few rooms here for a wedding that we would all be attending in town - we weren't planning on spending much time in the rooms themselves so a place like this was fine for us. Management was able to get 2 of the 3 rooms ready for early check-in which was very helpful so that we could get our things settled in our rooms prior to the wedding. The room my husband and I stayed in was clean but could use some updating - there were some rips in the carpeting which are an eyesore, but we didn't notice any other issues. The room itself was on the small side and the bathroom was kind of cramped as well - the sink is located outside of the bathroom which is something that I really don't like - most people would prefer to be able to wash their hands and brush their teeth within the bathroom itself. The bed and pillows were comfortable enough - I have stayed in higher end places that actually were less comfortable! Free coffee and tea available at all hours in the main lobby (nothing fancy; however, we were located on the same floor as the lobby so access was easy) - there is free breakfast as well - bagels and waffles and similar items. Not too much noise even though there were a lot of people there by evening time. The front desk employees were nice - no complaints about any customer service issues. Overall, this place is fine if you just need a basic room and aren't planning an extended stay - it is also located in a convenient area.

Trying hard

It is obvious that this hotel is trying to improve. The rugs in hallways and rooms appeared new. The staff are friendly and try to go out of their way to accommodate guests. There is still old damage visible in spots...cigarette burns on the bathtub, old sink fixtures. I'd give them an A for effort, but there's a lot that still needs to be fixed or replaced. The one thing that was definitely NOT OK with us was that there was no way to turn on the shower. New shower head in place, but no way to direct the water from the spigot to the new shower head. I went to the front desk and asked how to turn the shower on, and they apologized that it could not be done. They offered to give me a partial refund but then discovered that they could not because I had prepaid. Drove home dirty. On the breakfast bar, they had left a whole bowl full of peeled, hard-boiled eggs sitting out on the counter. I again went to the front desk and advised them that eggs, once they've been boiled, need to be refrigerated. They moved the bowl to the refrigerator.

Stayed at this place (1st time) for a 2 night trip to Saratoga Race Track. Arrived 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night after racing. Booked a 2-bed room, but was given a one bed by mistake. I had my reservation with me showing the details. The general manager (DK) was on-site and was contacted about the problem. It turned out to be a glitch on the Red roof side. No other 2-beds were available and a cot was placed in the 1-bed room for one night and the first night’s room was comped. We were moved into a 2 bed room first thing the next morning. So the problem was correctly quickly and to my satisfaction. Overall, the hotel is fine. The rooms are fine for quick stays when traveling to the track (15 miles away, all highway) or a quick Saratoga visit. The hotel is located in Clifton Park, NY close to various restaurants (several in a 2 mile radius) and a great grocery store called Market 32 (part of a price chopper chain). If you go the TGI Friday’s, you get 20% off your food bill using the hotel key card discount. Some constructive feedback is around the breakfast. Very limited choices (compared to other comparable hotels) with only waffles, cereals and bakery goods,- no scrambled eggs, meats or yogurts. Also, the breakfast seating area is smaller, so you may be eating in your room

DO NOT STAY HERE, DK IS THE RUDEST MANAGER I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED

We booked a 1 King Jacuzzi Suite 2 months in advance. DK called us the day of our reservation as we traveling 6+ hours to make up an excuse that pets are not allowed in the suites(Not even brought up on redroofinn.com when we were booking) he then said we will have to put you in a double bed room. We know he was just trying to give the room to a high roller on race weekend. When we told him we were going to book elsewhere he said "Good Luck finding another hotel." I would not stay here if they gave me a million dollars because of DK's rude attitude, he needs to have disipinary actions prusued against him. I will be contacting corporate and the hotels owner.
