Very friendly & clean hotel. The staff is very helpful & polite from top to bottom. I always stay at this location when I'm in town. The front desk will go out the way to help & accommodate your needs, (Ekta, Crystal, & RJ.)

Great extended stay

We had an extended stay in Newark and the staff was wonderful. From the front desk to house keeping and maintenance. They did what ever we needed to make our stay great even giving me flavored creamers for my coffee.

The Red Roof Inn-University is a great place to stay whether you're traveling for business or pleasure! RJ,Ekta & Crystal are courteous, pleasant and accommodating. The facility was up to date, well kept and clean. They honor rates of company's such as pet friendly policy is what brought us to Red Roof Inn but its the staff and comfy-clean rooms that will make us always stay there! We rate Red Roof Inn-University 5 gold stars!

Family stay gone wrong

I’ve been staying here for a couple months as I look for a new place to live at first they were accommodating... few days go by we hear squeaking .. ignore it for a while then we see rat droppings tell the manager he says we will look into it but he more so listens to respond, rather than hear you. He only worries about money not the quality of his place he lives there along with his family and relatives they try to get in even if there is a don’t disturb sign room service supervisor is a completely disrespectful person. Fast forward to today we just got back from Florida where we stayed at a wonderful hotel named main gate in Kissimmee.. so today we had reserved another night this guy decides to say no you have to get out with my two kids and my dog and all luggage he was upset that when we left my dog had left a tiny mess outside on the balcony I forgot to check but he wasn’t concerned with the pounds of rat crap all in every drawer. The health department needs to check this place and red roof should seriously look into this franchise because it’s poorly ran by a man of little to no character. DONT GO HERE !

Horrible experience

First, we are traveling and arrived late night, with two kids. We were looking for an easy on/off highway that was clean and reasonably priced. When we arrived and checked in to our room it smelled horribly of urine. When we went back to the front desk to say something they upgraded our room to a suite which was equally horrible but didn’t smell, so we slept for a few hours. There were holes in the walls, the side tables were dirty and sticky, the room smelled of cigarettes (even though it was a nonsmoking room), the couch had burn marks in it, the bathroom sink didn’t drain and had nasty stuff in it and the shower was moldy and dirty. This morning, we called requesting two additional towels and face cloths, and the desk said but you just checked in. Well, there are four of us and two towels/face cloths not four. They said they would bring some up. 35 min later still no items, when we called back they said housekeeping had just gotten in. So we went down to desk to get the items ourself. When arriving in lobby, the housekeeping team was hanging out in the public lobby chatting, which is discouraging to see when a hotel is in the business of service. We are in the service industry, and run a lodging facility. I understand that things happen and nothing is ever perfect but this experience was compounded with multiple failures.
