Located just five miles from Six Flags New England, Red Roof Inn Enfield is also only eight miles from the Basketball Hall of Fame, the BIG E and Springfield Civic Center. The New Hartford Convention Center and Meadows Music Theater are just 14 miles away and the Hartford Civic Center is 18 miles while the hotel is only nine miles from the Bradley International Airport. We've stayed at Red Roof Inns all summer and they were lovely. Unfortunately this one was not. The location is great , right off the highway and near shopping centers. First there was confusion about our reservation...we needed 2 beds, she was giving us one. That was fixed. There is a car in the parking lot , up on blocks with no wheels. Looks like it's been there awhile. How odd...Now for the room, when we turned on the light in the bathroom, the toilet tank cover was off...well not really, it was too small and you had to look into the tank ...gross. ( you can buy a replacement at Home Depot around the corner. ) There are nicotine stains dripping down the bathroom walls ( it was a smoking room ) and the drain plug for the tub was laying on the side of the tub instead of inside the drain.(See photos) The door locked, but the latch to open the door just slightly....that was broken. The floors look like they could use a good wash. I kept my sandals on. I later noticed the housekeeping cart doesn't have a mop or any type of swiffer type quick mop. We spent two nights here...I do like having the microwave and refrigerators in the room. I suppose next booking, I'll make sure it says recently renovated...as this one clearly was not.I really am not a fussy person, I just need a place to sleep, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Booked two rooms for family just for 1night after driving 5 hours for a party. The reservation was made and I called a week before they checked in to confirm. At that time I asked for my parents to have a First floor non-smoking room. My parents are older and don't do stairs well at all. That night they checked in my daughter took them to hotel and told me later that night, they were placed on second floor. Then I saw my mother at checkout the next day and she told me my father coughed all night and she saw a few people smoking in "smoke free building 1." I did notify management that could've at least comped one of the rooms. Instead told me when I book again to call them. I did call and if the couldn't give my parents what was requested I would've put Someplace else.Location was good but will not book with them again .

Conveniently located right off the interstate this hotel is just awesome! The staff at this property make it their goal to have a guest's stay be the best ever! They are kind, courteous and go out of their way to help with a smile on their faces. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. My hotel of choice whenever I'm in the area, these folks will NOT disappoint you and the property is very nice too with great restaurants within walking distance.

On route and booked this hotel for overnight stay. Everything was for the most part good. Easy check in. Coffee in lobby was good. Room Clean, bit of chlorine smell when we opened the door, but that went away. Internet worked well .Lots of nearby food places, many in walking range. About the only slightly negative thing was the cable is analog and the picture on all channels was a bit snowy. I guess we have gotten used to digital cable at home. None the less, we would stay here again.

Had two good experiences there and one that was terrible.

I wanted to share our experience at the Red Roof Inn Enfield, CT, Below is the letter I sent to them regarding our stay: I'm writing to you about our visits this summer to your Red Roof Inn Enfield CT Location. I read reviews of places we plan on staying and I weigh the reviews heavily in deciding on which hotels to use on our travels. We read reviews on your Enfield location and most of the reviews were resoundingly positive (cleanliness, lack of bugs and service). We stayed there on our way to Montreal in July and had a wonderful experience, the room was clean, staff very pleasant and helpful so on our return trip we decided to stay there again (also in July), the room was clean, the bed was uncomfortable and noisy this time around which I mentioned when checking out, I was told they were being replaced in groups and the issue would be resolved when the renovations were complete. Given that the rooms were clean and we were traveling back to the area in August (9th to the 11th or 12th) we decided Red Roof would be our go to place and we'd avoid the room with the hard bed. We arrived on Wednesday August 11th and checked in, unpacked our belongings and electronics (we don't pack lightly) and settled in for a good nights sleep. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the clerk was polite and very helpful checking in as usual but that's were the joy ended. In the middle of the night I got up to use the bathroom and noticed a bug on the bathroom floor (see enclosed picture), I don't care much about bugs as long as they're not roaches or bed bugs but Lynn's view of bugs is entirely different, she unfortunately woke up and asked me what was going on so I showed her the insect. I wasn't too freaked out as it obviously wasn't a roach but I wasn't sure if it was a bedbug or not and it was the middle of the night so we tried to get back to sleep. In the morning (Thursday) I went to the office with the bug in one of your plastic cups (the clerk was there, along with I believe one of the housekeepers), they both assured me it wasn't a bedbug and said they'd get the room sprayed. I asked them to wait till after we left on Friday morning because Lynn has allergies to any types of chemicals and also has COPD, a very severe breathing disorder. We went to visit relatives and returned Thursday evening when we returned to our room we noticed a very distinct chemical odor, one only associated with insecticides. We were both quite upset considering I asked them to wait till we finished our visit but considering it would take us half an hour to pack up all our belonging to change rooms THEN spend another half hour unpacking to settle in again so we decided to try to brave it through the night. In hind sight we both realize what a mistake that was. By 1:00 AM we both had terrible headaches and nausea and were hardly able to sleep at all from itching. When she got up in the morning she had a terrible rash on her leg and groin (see enclosed picture). We were considering staying till Saturday to avoid weekday traffic but having not slept properly and itching like crazy we decided to cut it short and head home. When I went to check out the clerk could probably tell I hadn't slept, I must have looked miserable because she didn't even ask how our stay was. I know things like this can happen but am very disappointed in the lack of compassion of the staff for our discomfort and safety. Lynn's rash got to the point of itching so bad she was scratching it raw and that resulted in a trip to the ER this past Friday (a week after leaving Enfield), she got some medication and the rash is starting to look better. I don't know if it was a professional or if the housekeeper sprayed the room but care should be taken using chemicals like that in places where people sleep (we could literally TASTE the chemicals in the room). Please make an effort to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else as it really caused us a lot of discomfort and inconvenience. I know this was a long letter but I felt it necessary to let you know so perhaps it can be avoided by the Red Roof chain in the future. The letter was sent to both the Enfield location and Red Roof Corporate Headquarters. I received a phone call from the manager of Red Roof Enfield and he basically said they didn't spray the room and made no apologies for the bug, rash or our inconvenience and suffering. His lack of compassion and failure to take responsibility for anything we experienced just added to our pain. There was a stong odor of insecticide in the room and denied having anything to do with it, he said they only use outdoor spray and hire professionals for inside the rooms so I suspect someone in the staff used the outdoor spray in our room. I never received a call or note from Corporate Headquarters so I'm guessing they just don't care. It's sad they let an unfortunate event ruin their reputation in our eyes. We understand things like this can happen but denying responsibility is just a low blow. Next summer we'll likely stay somewhere else in Enfield.
