We stayed here a couple years ago and it was nice so on this trip back through we came back. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and they offer a discount if you have a Drs appointment during your stay.

Won't stay there again.....

This was my hotel for a day or two as I travelled northbound. This time the trip was 2 nights. The room was not made after the first night, ok I thought, maybe they just missed us. After being out all day for two days, the next time I come back, STILL no fresh towels or beds made, tidying up, etc. Went up to front desk at 330 pm that day to ask what gives and the front person basically shrugs and says, "well, the cleaning people went home for the day".... nice. They were better than that before. That hotel lost me as a customer...

From the minute I checked in I felt unsafe. Ended up with a room in the back of the hotel and there were people smoking outside my door and smoke was coming into the room. It was supposed to be a non smoking hotel. Called manager and they said they would send someone and never did. I called again and told them this was supposed to be a non smoking hotel and I have COPD this was not healthy for me and the people were still right outside my door smoking and being very loud - this was at 10pm. At 11pm someone tried to open the adjoining door and I asked and told them to stop. It continued and I called manager, again he said he would send someone. At about 1am someone tried to open the door to my room and I told them they had the wrong room. They tried it again and I told them I was calling security. I called the manager and begged him to change my room and told him I felt very unsafe. He said he would send security out, I asked him if he had already sent them and he said he had forgotten. He said they had no rooms available, but I called their reservation center and was going to be able to book a room, so that was not true. I told them what was going on and they called the hotel but the desk clerk insisted they had no rooms. I ended up staying up the entire night while there were people outside the door laughing and being loud. I gave up calling the front desk again and asked for a refund so I could leave, and he told me that there was nothing he was going to do and I could talk to the manager at 10am. When the manager came in I was at the desk with my suitcase and asked for a refund. I was telling him what had gone on the prior night and he stopped me and said there was nothing he could do and would not refund my money, but would issue a credit to my card. I called my credit card company and asked what they could do and they said if he sent a note with all the info they would do an immediate refund so I could go elsewhere. He said he did not have time. By this point I was in tears and telling him that I was unsafe and would not go back to the room again, he insisted he did not have any other rooms. I took out my phone and called the main reservation number and they booked a room for me - I told the person I was on the phone with what was going on and they put me on hold to call the hotel. Before he could answer other people were starting to come in so suddenly he had a room available - right next to the office. The room had been empty all night and I could have been moved there. I will never stay at a Red Roof property again and would advise no one to stay here.

Pro: - Great shower accessories (removable, easy height adjustment. I always ask for a handicapped room if they aren't taken by someone who needs them; that gives me the adjustable shower nozzle). - Excellent front desk personnel. - They are really dog-friendly. There's no extra charge for dogs (some hotels say they are dog-friendly but ding you with a fee.) But there's no dog smell in the rooms due to the all hardwood-type flooring (new in the Red Roof Plus hotels). - Fridge, personal combinations safe (large enough for a couple of laptops), & a microwave. - There were 2 extra power outlets (with the amps rating shown, 4 & 9) on the front of the microwave (but no USB outlets! Go figure); nice touch. - Great location for access to Lenox, Buckhead, & GA Tech (10 mins). - Good value. Con - Too much air freshener had been sprayed in the A/C vent. - The HVAC was hard to figure out. No "heat" button, only cool or fan (and not both of those). I like the fan always on; not an option. - We got a room with a door to the adjoining room; this was not a show-stopper, but it would have been nice if they'd told me that at check-in. - The quoted price is not final price; you get dinged for taxes and such. They should tell you that during the selection phase, not when you are finishing the online transaction. I know most hotels and travel sites do this, but it leaves a bad taste after the transaction.

I was visiting Atlanta for the first time for 6 days, with the main purpose to see the Atlanta Falcons play twice. The check in staff and the staff in general were always very friendly and polite. I arrived early for my check in but did not have to wait long, the first room had not been cleaned but I went back to reception and this was resolved straight away and was given a key to another room which was clean, at first the key did not work but a member of staff soon sorted that out. the impression was if you had any issues the staff were more than happy to help you resolve it, apart from when I checked in, I did not really need to speak to the front desk but in the morning and evenings when going to/from the property the staff who I encountered were always very friendly. I do not drive but it is easy to get around, You take the 39 bus from round the corner to the Lindbergh Centre which takes 15 - 20 mins and then the Marta from there to the centre of Atlanta which again is about 15 -20 mins, just be a little cautious late a night when taking public transport and book Lyft if it is after 9pm, as the area around Lindbergh station can get interesting but I never encountered any problems. My room was very spacious, bed very comfortable and yeah for what I paid, it did the job.
