Absolutely worst, avoid

Avoid avoid avoid. As other reviewers noted, they do price gouging over graduation & Mother’s Day weekend. A room that was normally costing $45-$70/night, was charged at $288/night. Room was disgusting, smelly, moldy damp smells, causing me migraines. Just absolutely terrible experience leaving everyone thoroughly upset. Furthermore, we were all itchy afterwards and my mother heard some strange sounds at night inside the room. The front desk refused to give us a refund stating they had an inspector inspect the room and no mold was found. Care to share that report? We will be disputing with our credit card and will be reporting them.

Bad bad bad

Go to a lot of red lobsters and usually consistent, but this one missed the mark. Food OK but service poor and place smelled like dirty sweat socks. Not impressed and will not be back. Needs new management and it showed, place was empty

MICE!!

Stayed at this hotel for U of I Graduation. Second and third night price had a 350% price increase due to an EVENT. All of the local hotels charge these outrageous prices during U of I events. We were willing to pay in order to be close. What we didn't expect were towels no better than the towels you get at a gym, and mice. To be fair, I only saw one...but I shouldn't have to see any or hear them in the walls at night while we tried to sleep. I saw the mouse on our second day. Reported it to one of the housekeepers who temporarily plugged the holes in the bathroom where I saw the mouse come out while we were out for the day. Needless to stay, I didn't get any rest. Breakfast is NOT GOOD - bad coffee and packaged muffins. At checkout - managements response for the mouse was a $25.00 plus tax refund on a total original bill of $579.66. Totally Unacceptable!!!

Dirty room, accommodating staff

I was appalled when we entered our room and there was what looked like literal crap smeared on a blanket, a cigarette hole burned through a sheet on one bed, and a splotch of sauce on a pillowcase. The linens were filthy and I couldn’t in my right mind stay there as I didn’t trust that another room would be clean. However, I’ve added a star as the front desk was very apologetic and kindly refunded us on our request so we could go elsewhere. I was upset that it wasn’t up to our standards — I have stayed at many Red Roofs elsewhere and never saw anything like this — but appreciated that the staff was understanding. We paid a premium for graduation weekend but given the condition of our room it would have been a total waste of money. So, proceed at your own risk — your experience may be fine like other reviews suggest! But ours was just terrible.

Mothers Weekend Watch Out

Here for Mother’s Weekend at the University of Illinois and what upsets me the most is the price gauging. For tonight this room is advertised for $45 a night but we ended paying $468 for two nights because it was Mother’s Weekend. This room is not worth it. The sink is falling apart and the breakfast is a joke — bad coffee, fruit, and a packaged muffin. The room is clean but smells like smoke and dog all at the same time. We will never stay here again.
