Nice and Clean

Great hotel right off the highway. Not too far from up mall The staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, Only issue was we thought the bed was a little hard. Woke up with our backs hurting. But everyone is different and it won't stop us from coming back.

Never ever again

We stayed there because of unfortunate circumstances but would never again. Rooms dirty, patrons questionable and breakfast dismal! Suspicious activity always going on and security was very scarce. Yuk

Clean and Friendly

This Red Roof is not one of the standard Red Roof properties. Its rooms are larger than the standard Red Roof. It also comes with a continental breakfast (a nice one), not at all standard for Red Roof. The room had a fridge and microwave and was spotless. The people who own and work there were extremely friendly and accommodating, offering help when not expected. All that for the usual inexpensive Red Roof price. We really enjoyed our stay.

No thank you

Red Roof Inn South Bend-Mishawaka 1325 E University Drive Granger, IN 46530 After a long drive and anticipation of a three day relaxing stay, we were excited to arrive at our hotel. Wife and daughter went in to secure our rooms and was greeted by a very gruff and curt Indianan man (owner). It was check in time (3:00 PM) and we were told that the room had not been inspected, so come back later. At that point was ready to find another hotel, but with two small dogs (≥ 6 lbs.) we were fairly limited on our options. We went and filled up the car, grabbed a few donuts from Kristy Crème, and headed back. This time the owner was very nice and warm. We went to our rooms, opened the door and gasped at the stench emitting from the room. We opened the window, which opened wide open and turned on the AC. The room was a very worn King bed, the sheets were clean, while the bed cover was aged and had a cigarette burn on it. There were hard wood floors in the room. The ballast in the bathroom fluorescent lights was bad and in need to replacement, therefore the lighting was bad in the bathroom and worse in the shower. The shower was a new fiberglass insert, it was clean, roomy, and water pressure was excellent. The TV is fixed to the wall and the bed is offset and not centered and so viewing the TV is difficult. During the day there was a limited number of channels to view (17 or so), but after 7:00 PM the channel access tripled or quadrupled. During our stay, we did get to see the inside of some of the other rooms, which were much nicer than the two we were staying in. Road noise from I-80 is an issue and could be heard with the window shut. We placed air fresheners on the AC unit and in front of the vents, to make the air more pleasant in the room. I poured a half gallon of bleach down the drains to kill any germs which might be causing the putrid odor in the room. Breakfast was minimal at best. The owner was a hawk and watched everyone and how much food you took. All food had to be eaten in the room and not out. There was a homeless man living in his car, in the parking lot. There were a number of shady activities going on there after hours. Witnessed one young woman come in twice with two different men, trying to rent a room for half a night. A woman selling something to a man and them drive off (it was not pizza delivery). The night clerks, single women, were extremely nice and accommodating. If I ever back to South Bend, I will never stay at this Red Roof hotel again.

Quiet Weekday Stay

We had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel was super quiet. We were there on a weekday and only stayed for one night. Had 2 dogs with us. No charge for pets and no hassle given to us about them. Plenty of space for us to walk them. Breakfast was better than any previous Red Roof Inns that I’ve stayed at. Had waffles, bagels, sausage, egg patties, a few pastries and a couple plain cereals. Our room looked to be recently renovated. Bathroom was nice and clean. Sheets were clean. No smell in room. Only complaint about room was the bed. Not super comfortable and the mattress seems like it is past its life span. With that said, it’s not the worst mattress we have slept on at a hotel and I didn’t wake up with a sore back or neck. Would recommend this hotel.
