Pleasant stay

We we're in town for a Notre Dame game. All hotels had elevated prices. RRI was the best deal. Room was spaceous, clean with comfy king bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. If I were to make one negative comment it would be for the very strong disinfectant smell throughout the hotel. We like the bare floors opposed to dirty rugs We were able opened our window to help us sleep at night with fresh air. All in all a pleasant stay.

Stayed there after the ND football game. The room was clean and the AC worked on a hot night. There was no shampoo or conditioner to use in the shower. Doesn’t that seem like a Basic item to provide? The stopper in the sink was missing so I couldn’t put water in the sink. We slept way past the breakfast hour but an employee gave us a couple of yogurts to have with coffee. That was nice. It is near a Costco and other shopping stores.

It's been awhile since I've stayed at a Red Roof Inn but I was not worried about this stay. However, I would not recommend this hotel. I was worried as soon as I walked in. The smell of lavender Fabuloso cleaner was unmistakeable. Our room smelled even more like the cleaner. The floors are linoleum and so I imagine they were mopped with it. I had a headache the size of Montana by the time we checked out. The room was clean, the staff was very nice, the price good considering the nearby football game. Pets stay free and that's a plus. But the breakfast was not worth attempting to eat, the ice machine was broken and the toilets in the room were possibly the lowest we've ever dealt with. I would NEVER go back and I intend to be in the area again.

Dirtiest hotel I've ever been in

I understand that cheap hotels come with low expectations, but this one takes Home the prize for total lack of ownership and cleanliness. When we checked in late at night, a bathroom towel was dirty and not washed, we cracked open the window (2nd story" to get in some fresh air and the window opens all the way with no screen - very dangerous and the toilet paper was almost empty and never replaced. The over condition of the room went down from there. Never been in a hotel room where the entire room wasn't carpet vs a fake wood appearance. Floor seemed sticky in areas and made it difficult to go without shoes. If it wasn't late and one of the kids crashed- we would have just left. Save your money and a restless night of sleep!

On Thursday the 22nd of March I checked into this hotel. A friend who traveled from St Croix, VI to attend a wedding stayed with me. We had satisfactory experience the first 2 nights. Saturday my daughter came and we all got ready for the wedding together. We were getting ready to leave and noticed our gift bag was missing from the room. We immediately went to the front desk and spoke with Jason Jones. He was very professional handling our concerns. He advised us the cleaning staff would be the only ones who would have a key to access our room. He recovered part of our gift laying on the ground outside by a trash receptacle, near a side entry door. It appeared suspicious to him. Jason made an effort to obtain a name from the card to possibly confirm this was indeed trash. Jason showed us what he found. Part of our wedding gift and a card that was placed in a larger box and tied with a bow. The gift had been ripped opened, gift bag destroyed and a frame was broken. Thankfully the cards were found. Room credit was given for our stay by Jason Jones and a sincere apology. No follow up by owner Jason Patel was received as requested. I went in person on Monday, March 26 to talk to the owner. He was not present. Justin contacted Jason Patel. I talked to him at the hotel by telephone. He said he did not get a chance to check security cameras even though he was called to premises when we reported loss. He did talk to the cleaning staff and confirmed they removed our gift bag. Jason Patel confirmed a language barrier existed with cleaning staff and also a issue with staff dropping trash out second story window repeatedly. I was told this would be taken care of as it was an ongoing issue. There has been no further communication from the owner after a follow up phone call and second request for steps he has taken to ensure guests items are safe in room.
