Front desk lady was very nice and friendly. Room needed some paint touch ups. We are non smokers and can tell when the room has been smoked in. We were spraying down the room to stay the night. Not enough towels in the room. Heater worked good. No bugs found. Breakfast is a grab and go type. Bananas, apples, bear claws, coffee and etc.. Bed was comfy, but pillows were flat once you laid down on them. I could see the light from the outside coming in thru the door crack. This was not a planned stay, but in a pinch it worked.

We were in the area for a funeral in Columbus. Hubby didn't want to pay the prices that the motel that others in our family were at, plus our adult children in the next room brought their dog, so we chose the Red Roof. I was overall pleased with our room. Hardwood floors seem easier to keep clean. Everything worked and smelled ok in our room, though our amenities were not restocked after the first night (of two.) Breakfast was woefully lacking, even comparing it to other continental breakfasts at other motels. Just bagels, pre-packaged pastries, apples & bananas, and juice and coffee. That's all. Most continental breakfasts at other budget motels at least have cereal...just sayin'. So don't choose this place based on the "free" breakfast. We ended up at Waffle House instead. Don't think my son and his wife do Trip Advisor, so will add that their room seemed to have a smell to it. Otherwise pretty much the same as ours. They were glad to have a place that lets you have dogs.

Hotel was nice and clean. But, they do not make beds or clean out the garbage every day. We had to ask for more towels. Great location. Allows pets for free. I would come back again. Beds very comfortable.

Avoid This Motel At All Costs - Your Sanity May Depend On It!

I finally found the motel from hell. I would not have been surprised if the character Norman Bates ran the place. This Red Roof Inn is a perfect example of what a motel should not be. The desk clerk was very disinterested in motel guests. She could not help herself from being so curt with anyone who strolled in. She was put out each time we approached the counter, because we interrupted her needlework! Neither my friend or I truly inspected the room upon arrival, but we should have. We had no wash cloths for the shower or the sink. The next morning we had what the motel called a breakfast in their small lobby dining area. I asked where cereal was kept, the desk clerk said they didn't serve cereal, but that they had cereal bowls. I usually do not eat Styrofoam bowls, which they did have to no purpose. My next request was for milk. The clerk informed me they did not have any and that I could drink coffee creamer. Really? That night upon return to the motel, we noticed the room was not cleaned, and the staff had made the beds by pulling the cover up on the bed and tossing pillows on it. We still had no wash cloths, and we discovered they did not provide soap or shampoo. The lack of cleaning staff merely left the packages of what we had used in the bathroom. The next morning we suffered through the insufficient breakfast. Also, by the end of our stay we ended up with six key cards to the room. Our “favorite” desk clerk kept making them for one day at a time on a three-night stay. At breakfast the next morning, my friend asked the clerk for cream cheese for his bagel. She told him they did not offer cream cheese and to use butter on it. My guess is that we were to consider it even fortunate bagels were offered. By the third evening of our stay, the Red Roof Inn sank to a new low. Ants were crawling on the bathroom floor. They did provide new soap and shampoo, but the bathtub was still dirty. We were thrilled that they finally allotted us two wash cloths. We skipped breakfast on our third morning. Neither of us could endure the dining conditions. And I really did not want to drink a glass of coffee creamer. My buddy did the checkout, and Ms. Needlework did not want to give him a receipt. He had to ask for one. Avoid this place, you just might find Janet Leigh's body in the shower.
