I hope as able to get a room for a long period of time at this location and I can honestly say that I do not have anything bad to say about this hotel. The staff has been nothing but helpful and polite. The room was clean and well taken care of. The price was great. And they allowed all my pets. I have been asked multiple times by multiple staff if I needed anything or if they could help in any way. They have made getting a hotel easy and actually a good experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place for the night or even for a couple weeks. They make you feel at home here.

We were visiting family in Coloma on an August weekend. It's very hard to find affordable rooms. The Best Western was asking $300/night! I finally found this place for $150 on Expedia, so I booked it. I kept checking on the rates, and through Expedia it went down to $99 (information Expedia did not volunteer). When we checked in, I wanted to cry. I didn't expect the double beds to be quite so small, or the room to be just so sad and old. We did have a microwave and TV, and it was clean. Unfortunately, it was just rusty and worn out. While the room was non-smoking, it was obvious that had not always been the case. The front desk and housekeeping staff were all wonderful, however!

I've read some of the current reviews and have a hard time grasping their viewpoint. We booked our room here for a get away from stress and work life. We called for reservations, and I believe her name was Jennifer was a delight on the phone. Jennifer ensured me of quality rooms and that I'd have a room on the first floor. When we arrived that evening, they're were several guests in the lobby and the front desk girl stayed smiling and quickly got through the line of guests. We did get our first floor room! The room was fresh smelling, inviting and overall a good room for the price. There was little noise at night and the front desk even called to make sure we had everything we needed. I asked for some extra hand towels and she hand delivered them. When we left in the morning, we met the manager, Casey, and she was so sweet and friendly. She asked how are stay was and if there was anything that they could do better? I felt this was a remarkable approach to customer service. Casey and Jennifer gave several local suggestions of places to eat locally as well as printed out directions to get us to St. Joseph's Silver Beach. As a frequent traveller, I was overall very satisfied with my stay. Thanks Red Roof!!!

All of the staff are VERY customer oriented. Everyone here works really hard to provide awesome guest outcomes!

It has been my pleasure to stay here. All of the staff are most definitely customer-orientated! The hotel is within walking distance to shopping and eating establishments, and the building/rooms are well-maintained. Lake Michigan is just a short drive from here, as well as other popular local attractions. The staff...Casey (the manager), Jen, Brett, Roni, Thelma, Shirley, Cindy, Mickey, Wilhelmina, Tasha, Jessica, Marcqeda, Talia, Tanesha, Aryrrion, Nicole, Cierra, Stephanie, Vernon, and Jonathon, all go the extra mile to make the guests feel comfortable, and their stay here, enjoyable! They are the best of the best!

Horrible! The room was filthy, the management even worse!

I knew I was taking a chance booking at a Red Roof Inn, but it was the only hotel available at this destination and based on online photos and promises of “newly renovated rooms", we took a chance. We arrived at the hotel and checked in despite the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke in the front lobby. During check-in, I asked the front desk attendant if all of the rooms were renovated and she assured me that they were although “we haven’t received the new tubs, some of the counters, linens or towels yet.” I told her that I was confused and asked how they could be considered renovated but she assured me that our room was. We drove to our room (#131 which was in the tractor trailer parking area) and along the way noticed several transient looking “residents” in the walkways and standing in rooms with doors that were propped open as occupants were in and out or sitting in chairs in the doorways. When we arrived at Room #131 and started carrying our belongings in, the overwhelming smell of cigarette smell was repugnant as we opened the door. The floors were filthy, the casters or “feet” on each bed were covered with dirt, the beds were poorly made and the room as a whole was dirty and felt like we would walk out with bugs. In no way, shape or form did the room look like the room in the online photos (as shown in your website photos and on Expedia.) (all rooms were designated as Non-Smoking, that is very clearly not the case) I went back to the office and asked for a refund due to the filth and as I did not feel safe, my children were almost in tears and my husband was upset for all of us and then some. The lady behind the counter stated that she had to get her manager because she was not authorized to issue any refunds. The manager came to greet me after she finished smoking at the front entrance with two members of the housekeeping and one maintenance team member), I told her my concerns and she informed me that because I did not cancel 48 hours prior to my stay that she absolutely would not refund my money. I informed her that I had every intention of staying, however the rooms and hotel were falsely represented and that due the large contingency of transient guests and the filthy room and concerns for safety that I could not, in good conscience, allow my family to stay in this motel. She continued to refuse. Immediately behind me were two other parties requesting refunds as well. I called Expedia, who called the motel and attempted resolution. This manager hung up on the supervisor from Expedia three times, they informed me of her “extremely rude” behavior as well. I am a professional in the service industry and this experience has left me extremely disappointed as well as reeling, if any of my employees ever behaved in this manner, there would be coaching and more than likely repercussions, possibly termination, as a result of an incident(s) such as this. They would not stand behind their room, the management was hardly that - or was so hardened due to the type of "guests" they normally house, that she just did not care - I'm not sure which one. However, it quickly became obvious to me and those others in the lobby at the same time that they were pulling a bait and switch. How can a hotel be newly renovated/remodeled when nothing is new - they're "waiting for all of those things to come in". I want a refund!
