Because of the location of our event, we were limited on our options of hotels. We understood that we were staying in a budget hotel, but there is a difference between budget and cheap. The front desk clerk could barely look up from her screen when we came in and was definitely not going to stand up from her chair. We had to walk past litter strewn rooms (honestly trash piled up in front of the outdoor entrance rooms). The stench was that of a sewer. Our room was a Jacuzzi suite was filthy. The jacuzzi tub has a layer of grime in it. I used a tissue and took a quick swipe at it and it wiped right up, so it isn't like the housekeeping crew couldn't have done the same. Needless to say, we paid for a Jacuzzi that we were in no way going to use! No wash cloths in the room and the wifi wasn't working. When we called down to all about wifi we were told to log in (really? Huh, I hadn't considered that). Once we explained that we had tried logging in, I got a long sigh and was then told they would have to reboot the system. Sounded like this was not an unusual occurrence. In the morning I noticed something sticking out from under the bed. A quick peek under revealed dirty napkins and food (pretzels, etc). We left for the day, only to come back to find the tub still filthy and the food still on the floor. I could go on, but I'm too sickened to continue thinking about it. Pay the $10 extra and stay another 3 miles away in Auburn Hills.... It will be worth it!

Avoid this placed if possible.

Many things wrong. Staff was uncaring and inattentive. Room keys kept not working, No hangers in rooms. No extra pillows available. No facial tissue. Stayed here three days and NO maid service during the whole stay! Even though we reported it to the front desk. The reply was 'That's housekeeping's problem." Breakfast was a joke. All carbs - no protein. Only hot item was waffle. Room was dark. Obviously the management just does not care.

The staff is really guest oriented. Many bumps have happened during my stay but has always been resolved immediately. Katie and Josh work very hard everyday. Because of them, I have only had to go to the front desk once. They are able to answer all my questions and if I need anything they are really good at getting it done. Definately staying here more. Highly satisfied with overall quality and cleanliness of the room and service.

Great team! Good customer service

I came to visit my family over the weekend and decided to stay at the Red Roof Orion Township, I was surprised with my stay, reasonable price and very friendly girls at the desk. They offering continental breakfast, and that’s the only one RedRoof that has breakfast. I needed more towels for my room, so I called front desk, couple minutes later lady brought me even more than I needed, thank you guys to make me feel special and made my day! Great customer service!

I had reserved a room online that was nonrefundable and I drove from North Dakota to Lake Orion Michigan straight through I had been up for a total of 36 hours. When arriving at Red Roof Inn the horribly rude lady behind the counter told me that it was not paid for online. I asked her to look on her computer I asked her to look at my email where it said that it had been paid for. She refused to look on the computer or at my confirmation code instead she insisted that I pay for the room a second time and argued for over 30 minutes screaming at me that now she was actually kicking me out of the hotel and that she was so much smarter than me and that she did not need to look on the computer or call Priceline to verify that it was paid for that instead now she would not give me my money back and I was not allowed to stay at the hotel all of this because she insisted she was smarter than me. All of this could have been solved if she would have just looked at the computer that said I had paid in full. She even involved other guests at the hotel telling them I was bullying her and telling them the story. When finally my husband stepped in and spoke with the woman and calmed her down enough to look at the computer she saw that I was correct. She threatened to call the police on me. All of this because I simply stated I had already paid for the room online. There is also a complimentary breakfast that is only open until 8 a.m. . How many people get up and eat breakfast before 8 a.m. when starting at a hotel? Do not stay at this hotel the customer service is the worst that I have ever seen in my life. I was here for a funeral my husband's grandfather had passed away. There is no reason for me to have dealt with this type of stress from the hotel clerk over her insisting she was smarter. Avoid this hotel at all cost it is worth the 10 minute drive to Auburn Hills.
