The hotel was bargain-priced, and it was evident upon checking in. First, I had to wait about 10 minutes for the front desk clerk to appear. I got to the room, which was surprisingly not terrible, and the heat was on. It was sweltering in the room, and there was no way to turn down the heat somehow. The free Wi-Fi was too weak to stay connected; very disappointing overall -- worse than I expected, and I was expecting pretty bad...

Picked this hotel because everywhere was sold out for Homecoming. I should have known better. This hotel is disgusting. I requested a non-smoking room and although the door showed a non-smoking sign, it reeked of cigarette smoke. The floors had been mopped with Pinesol and they were sticky. There was no shampoo, kleenex, or Do Not Disturb sign. The door lock DID NOT WORK and I had to fudge with it every time I went in and out of the room. Bathroom was gross with dirty corners and hair that was obviously not mine. Mirror dirty, windows dirty, grime everywhere. They obviously don't check the rooms after housekeeping and before check ins. The exterior hallway leading to room had trash bundled up out side a room which stayed there all weekend and I really appreciated the nasty chicken bones laying outside my room. My friends who were staying two doors down had a lovely wakeup call at 3 am when the smoke detector battery started beeping. They called the front desk and was told by the night staff that he couldn't leave the office to bring another battery but they could come down to get one. So my friend went down in the pouring rain and there was a note at the desk that said someone would be back in 15 minutes. Really?? Could this service be any worse? I didn't dare walk barefoot in this room and literally wiped down every surface before putting my personal things down. I am not being dramatic. I have stayed at some very elegant hotels and some great budget hotels. This missed the mark all around. Don't waste your money here. You will be sorry. Not even at a bargain (which it wasn't by the way--$239.00 for the weekend...) does this place warrant a visit. Shame on them.

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Columbia Mo. I have to be honest and say, it wasn't the best. I wanted to leave and go to another hotel but what made me stay was Emmit. He was so insisted on helping me with my stay. Even offered to help carry some of my bags to my room. That was really thoughtful of him. I believe in my personal opinion that out of all the times I've stayed there, Emmit made me feel as if I was wanted there. I repeat, NOT THE BEST HOTEL, BUT I would go to stay ONLY if Emmit was working!!! Thanks Emmit!!!!

Going to have to pay me to stay here again

Bottom line: this motel apparently cuts too many corners on maintenance and staffing in the name of profit margin and I don't recommend staying here. Checked into my room earlier in the night, left for dinner. Upon arrival from dinner at about 8:45 PM, couldn't get into my motel room because of what turned out to be a faulty door lock and, according to staff, it has caused trouble for previous guests as well. Long story short, office was totally full, one guy was working by himself, and 1½ hour later at about 10:15 PM, I was finally given a free room for the trouble while my luggage and medication was still locked up in the original room. The free "upgrade" room that I am currently sitting in while typing this review has an A/C unit that is apparently on the verge of going out because the compressor tries multiple times to start and when it does finally start it's obnoxiously loud.

Clean room with quick check-in. Recent remodel with hardwood floors and flat screen tv. Quiet neighborhood with car lots on 2 sides. Relatively close to interstate. Coffee in the office area. Have stayed here in the past and never had an issue.
