The worst —- stay away

I am very disappointed in the lack of attention from not only guest relations but more so from the hotel itself. I cancelled my room via phone with Andre and was told to reach to Ms Patel for a refund to my credit card. After three days of attempting to reach her, I finally did and was told she needed to speak with her boss. I have attempted to reach her 11 times and have left 4 messages and have yet to be called back. I filed a formal complaint with guest relations and was promised a resolution in two days. It has been over a week and I haven’t heard back. Every time I call the hotel, neither she nor the owner are there. This is ridiculous. I have stayed at other Red Roof hotels over 40 nights in the past two months. This has now become ridiculous. This hotel in Charlotte is atrocious and lacks any decency when it comes to customer service. Because Andre told me it would be cancelled, I paid for another hotel that was three hours away. Had he not told me that it would be refunded, i would have driven to the Red Roof and stayed. I called again today and was told that the manager was not in (he has avoided my call now for two weeks).

Needing of TLC

Not a great area to be in, hotel certainly needs updating,paint,some better room cleaners. Carpet needed a vacuum,ironing board and iron were left out. Overall a dumpy old room. Good breakfast, lots of parking. Front desk staff need to go learn customer service ,with the three we interacted with we were definitely bothering them,a little more professional in appearance (dirty jeans just doesn't cut it) Breakfast attendant was most inhospitable,she arrived at 9:00 and without asking anyone if we they were done proceeded to dismantle the breakfast area. By 9:05 everything was put away, a handful of late sleepers came down to find her hurriedly cleaning and not saying a word. Just no common courtesy.

Better than expected

My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night that wasn’t going to break the bank, we looked at reviews for several places and decided to give this place a try.we arrived early and were checked in efficiently by a lovely young lady on reception. we were asked if we wanted ground floor or a first floor room as they don’t have a lift and she didn’t want us to struggle if we had a lot of luggage. We were traveling light so opted for the first floor. The room was clean and tidy and the beds were comfy, we had a problem with the toilet not flushing properly as we were offered a different room. Again the room was clean and beds comfy. The only thing that let the place down was the bathrooms. They really need replacing as in both rooms they were clean but looked very dated. I would stay there again if the situation arose as the staff were pleasant and breakfast adequate for the price we paid.

Arnad epitomizes the quality Southern Hospitality and at numerous times during two night stay went out of his way to be a great innkeeper. Actually first time in many years we received a call after check-in to be sure we had no problems. Internet worked well. Breakfast was adequate and overall a great value. People talk about the neighborhood but going in and out many times did not give us any concerns in spite of locals noting it. On a busy interstate with lot's of workers staying for their jobs it was still a good value made better by the excellent staff. Again be realistic if your budget dictates 2 stars and be thankful they deliver! Will stay again next trip.

Refused a room because not a small dog

After travelling all day, we were expecting that if there was a vacancy we would be able to obtain a room, we had stayed at this location in the past with no problems. After telling us there were rooms available we were asked how many people and if pets, we said 2 adults and a dog, she specifically asked for the size and stated they had a new policy of only small dog. I mentioned that I stayed there previously and there was no such restrictions but the receptionist insisted that it was a new policy. I went on your website and there is no such mention. No question about temperament or anything. No help offered to find other amenities in our search. we have a bernese mountain dog and very well behaved. She is after all a working dog.
