Not worth the stay and don't enforce policy
November 27, 2019

This hotel/motel was a terrible experience. Like many people on road trips sometimes you want to find somewhere that's not to far from the route. We stopped here and right off the bat we pulled in from the freeway and as we were approaching the parking area two very dodgy acting women kept staring at us and moving around from side to side of the car park (seemed like they wanted to know where I was gonna park). When I did park they literally waited and watched me and my wife unload the car and walk in (I was sure to click the alarm fob 4 times). We got they swipe card for the room and with in seconds of getting to the room I knew it was going to be an unpleasant night. (See Photos) The room was bad. Very bad. Awful. I know this was not the Ritz or a Hilton but really.... The wall had holes and bad patch work, the bath was stained and filthy with holes and marks over it, the floor was disgusting, the toilet paper was like razors *kinda expected as many hotels/motels opt for bad TP*. We arrived at around 6PM and by 9PM the room was filled with the smell of smoke. I went to complain and they said the building was a no smoking building and I congratulated them on that but what are they going to do about the smoke coming from the ceiling vent into my room. She did apologize but said she couldn't leave the desk as she was the only one on (this frustrated me but knew it wasn't her fault). I went back to the room, blocked the vent with a towel and it seemed to work but when we woke up at 5am the room stunk of smoke again. On the plus side the car was not touched, the TV worked, the fridge worked and the lights worked. The bed was a king that was OK. Would I stay here again, NO.

Great service

Horrible place to stay
August 04, 2019

This hotel, by an order of magnitude, is the worst Red Roof Inn I have ever seen. Everything was broken. The toilet seat, the flush mechanism, the faucet on the sink, the coffee maker, both of the two treadmills in the "fitness center," the lock on the outside door. Even the ice bucket leaked! Everything was dingy and in need of maintenance: the walls, the air conditioner, the pipes. And yet even with AAA discount the cost was over $100.

It serves its pupose!!

First I made my reservation for this Red Roof Inn and then, I read all the scathing reviews. They worried me enough that I almost changed my reservation. But I didn't. My wife, daughter and I made the treck up to C-bus to take in the state fair and Columbus Zoo. Knowing we were going to be dropping fair amounts of cash at both venues I didn't want to drop a lot of cash on our hotel. You know this hotel serves it purpose. We only needed to have a place to sleep overnight. It's not in superior shape. It doesn't have a swimming pool and it's not the cleanest place on earth. But you know what, it cost us $52 to stay there. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for all those great amenities. A lobby to hang around in and smoozle with your buds. A swimming pool to babysit your kids. A continental breakfast that rivals IHOP. A USA Toady newspaper slid under your door in the middle of the night. A place that has those "Right Kind of People" hanging around. Then you should pay the $128 a night and stay at that hotel. If your wanting to spend as little as possible on your night's stay. Then don't judge it with that $128 a night perception. You know why? Wait for It! "IT IS WHAT IT IS!" We had a good stay. Yes the room is a little worn. The bathrooms could use some updating. The floor could be vacuumed a little better. BUT, the beds slept great. They had no bugs. The television was up to date and had a great picture and the continental breakfast offered served its purpose. We didn't have to pay to eat breakfast at the Columbus Zoo or Mc Donalds. If we were up in C-bus again and needed a "COST CONSCIOUS" place to stay, we would stay there again.

Nothing fancy, just a typical motel, room was just okay. Good for an overnight’s sleep after a long drive, especially when you are on a road trip. Friendly staff, WiFi was a bit slow, free self parking.
