Wreaked of pot
We chose this hotel because there were very few vacancies, and it was rated fairly well. The red flag went up as soon as we got on the elevator. The inside of the elevator was in pretty rough condition, and when the doors opened on the second floor, we were met with the overwhelming smell of marijuana smoke. The entire hallway wreaked of it, and our room wasn't much better. We decided to try and find a different hotel, but to our dismay, everything in the area was sold out. After doing some research, we found out that the Clark County government is paying hotels to house the homeless. I couldn't believe there could be enough homeless in the area to fill up the four hotels I checked. One hotel told me that their entire building was booked solid until the end of July, and this was in a highly rated chain hotel. I was shocked. When we couldn't find another room, we asked if there were any more rooms available in the Red Roof, and were told they were sold out as well. We complained of the smell, and someone from the staff did come up and spray something in the hall and room that made it bearable for the night. We will not be staying in this particular location again.
