urine, filth: this one's got it all!
July 17, 2017

Based on other reviews I see here, my story isn't new, but I'll share it anyway so you can see that not much has changed since the last terrible review of this dump. This is truly one of my worst hotel experiences ever. If this room had even been cleaned, it must have been done in the dark by a person with poor eyesight and no sense of smell. Dark and dank, but hey, it's only two days right? Around 8am I started to feel cold from the a/c so I pulled the bedspread onto me. Wait, is that urine I smell? Uh oh. The front desk clerk was very nice about replacing it but...should this even happen?! The rest of the room wasn't much better: a towel with (I hope!) makeup on it, a refrigerator with some kind of pink goo stuck to all its shelves, and a shower curtain that wouldn't stay closed enough to prevent a half inch of water pooling around the toilet. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Believe it or not, I paid over $100/night for this dump! At least clean the place! Do some laundry! Stop cheating people! My advice to travelers: the location isn't great, especially if you plan to walk to "downtown Chattanooga" (which this ain't!) so if you're willing to be this far from the action, might I suggest the Motel 6 right across the street?

Nothing to complain about, decent hotel, friendly people, ok price, indoor heated pool witch my 6yo grandson loved, close to several fast food restaurants, Dollar General & Walgreens. Hotel is right off 24 and surprisingly pretty quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

Well run hotel in the "Twilight Zone"
July 12, 2017

We needed a reasonably priced dog friendly hotel in Chattanooga so that I could get a medical procedure. So we did what we would normally do, we reserved a room at the Red Roof Inn. We thought that it was actually in downtown, like the name says. It's not in downtown. It's in a run down area outside of downtown where there is very little do, and the only food is very bad fast food. It was such a strange area that we called it the "twilight zone" (an old tv show for the youngsters). And for both nights, hardly anyone was staying there. However, once you get inside the hotel is very clean and has nice rooms. And the guy at the desk is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was pretty good and well stocked. So I decided to give it 4 stars instead of just 3, mostly because they try so hard. So it's ok to stay here, just don't expect too much of the area where the hotel is located.

Nice hotel but Customer Service makes it GREAT!!
July 11, 2017

My husband and I have stayed at Red Roof inns before but the Red Roof Plus are much nicer if they are available in the area. They are always 100% non smoking, have hard wood like flooding and nice linen and bedding. This particular inn was in the middle of renovation but when our first room was damp around the air conditioning we were immediately upgraded to another room with no problems. Ben worked to make sure our move was easy. When we decided to stay an extra day Brittany also helped me work things out. She even left a goodbye note for my fur baby Bella. My one major complaintis the manager who apparently does not understand ADA GUIDELINES AS HE ALLOWED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS TO TAKE UP ONE OF THREE HANDICAP SPACES AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT WHEN I ASKED HIM ABOUT IT!! My husband is a recent amputee but both Ben and Brittany offered to accommodate us stating we could park at the front of the building.

This hotel did not live up to our expectations or the reviews I read! The location is convenient--not far from Lookout Mountain and downtown, and check-in was easy with a friendly front desk. But . . . the room had a musty smell, and there were mold stains in the bathroom. The TV was not working (roof work had affected the DirectTV), and front desk tried to reset and even move us to a new room, but these attempts were unsatisfactory. Wifi was inconsistent and unpredictable also. Beds were full size, and we prefer queen. Breakfast had very few choices, and there are only 2 tables in the breakfast area, so not enough seating on a busy summer morning. I will say that we were given a 40% discount due to the problems with TV and wifi and not being able to fix them.
