Friendly staff, reasonably priced

While nothing grand, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We did notice a strong smell of cleaning fluids, as well as some water damage to the ceiling. One of the staff told us that they'd had a roof leak and had repaired the roof but not yet replaced the ceiling.

Quiet, simple & clean...what more can you want?

Nice place that filled our need for a quiet, clean place to spend the evening on our way to our destination. Breakfast was better than most places. Hotel offered a pool too. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget motel along I - 40.

Prepared for the worst and was pleasantly surprised!

My son and I travelled to Knoxville for a soccer tournament. The coach selected this hotel, so I had no choice in selection. Our trip was for 3 nights. I read reviews, some were NOT positive, was prepared to inspect the room and possibly leave for a different hotel. Check in was pleasant. Jeff at the front desk was welcoming. Our room was 216. First glance, everything was OK. I checked for bed bugs since that was in a recent review. No issues there. The room and bathroom were clean. That is always at the top of my list! It is a no frills hotel, so don't expect little touches you may get at other places. It had one trashcan for the room, no soap dish in the bathroom, no face tissues. It did have a decent mini fridge and a microwave. There were only 2 towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths. I was able to call the front desk and go down to get extra towels and washcloths. Again, Jeff was super helpful and friendly. On one day, we headed back to the hotel between soccer matches and they had not yet cleaned our room. I asked the housekeeper if I could swap out towels. She did willingly and she asked if she could take trash from the room as well. I brought it out and she then volunteered to make our beds! I said we didn't require that, but what a shock that she offered! As stated, staff was very responsive!! Breakfast was the typical continental breakfast, waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, cereals, etc. It was free, hot and a good start for each day. There is an exercise room, a business office and a pool that looked well kept, but we didn't use any of these. Would I stay here again? Maybe. It isn't a place I'd usually pick, but I was pleased with our stay.

I'd like to rate this higher but just can't

I really would like to give this place a better review but I just can't bring myself to do it when the cons of my one night stay outweigh the pros. Pros: * Good Location * Cheap * Pet Friendly with no pet fees or deposit Cons: * The key readers are awful. I was first introduced to this when I tried to enter the back door which was nearer my room. There was a group of people gathered around and trying keys to get one that worked. * It would take a minimum of 5 attempts to get my room door to open. * Because of the above, I thought the key was defective (instead of the key reader) and went to the front desk to get it replaced. There was a good 10 minutes when no one was at the front desk and when she finally came back there was a line of people waiting to check-in. What should have taken a minute, took over 30. * There is an outside staircase with doors that should be locked. The key reader on the third floor door was completely non-functional but the door was not locked. This doesn't seem to be safe. * When I called to check out, the clerk said she would email me a receipt for my stay. That never happened.

Pretty skeeved out by this hotel

There's nothing really horrific that happened, and I'll start by saying that the 2 front desk employees I interacted with could not have been nicer. But the hotel itself is pretty gross. It just felt dirty. Again, nothing specific, but everything was old and worn and seemed grimy, although in my room I saw no visible dirt. My room was on the first level facing the parking lot and very dark with the shades drawn and the lighting in the room was very dim. I had no trouble with noise.
