Overcharged vs quote I was given
I've stayed at the RRI/Hot Springs before. I paid about 200.00, after tax, for 2 nights. I felt the price was okay for the hotel itself. I called to book 2 rooms for 2 nights, and I confirmed TWICE that my quote was 391.00 for 2 rooms for 2 nights, TOTAL. My brother in law were just going to split the cost down the middle. So, we were looking at a little over 200.00 after taxes, each. When we arrived, my card was charged 395.00, and my brother in law was charged 309.00. I explained to the front desk that we were supposed to split 391, and I also explained that he charged my card 86 more dollars than my brother in law. The front desk agent was not helpful, nor was he pleasant. He told me I could see the manager in the morning. So, the next morning, I go to resolve the problem and the manager isn't there. Long story short, the woman who quoted me the day of booking admitted that she made a mistake and told me the final cost for 2 rooms for 2 nights would be 391.00 total. The manager still refused a refund. He just told us we could leave if we didn't like it. I emailed RRI. I quickly got a response. The location manager finally offered us a 25% discount. I agreed to that IF he lowered my cost to 309 like my brother in law, and then took the 25% off of that. He didn't. He only gave me 25% off the 395.00. It is what it is, but....if a customer/guest is given a quote, they should be charged that quote. I was charged 197.50 per night. When the manager showed me their records, I saw where the other guests were charged 50 ish, 70 ish per night. So why were we charged 200 a night????? The manager shold've given us the rooms for 391.00 total. I might point out, the pool was torn apart, the room was dusty, hair in the shower drain, no toilet paper, and 1 towel. As someone who frequently visits Hot Springs, I will NEVER stay here again. Besides, the manager told us we didn't need to come back anyway. Okay!
