Check the linens!!!

I’m torn about this review....the owners were so accommodating. The only reason we stayed here was because everything else was full for the weekend. We checked in & all seemed well until we went to crawl into bed. Pulled back the sheets & found a quarter...weird huh? Then as we looked at the base of the bed the sheets were full of dead skin-BOTH BEDS-THE SHEETS WERE NEVER CHANGED! Owners themselves came up & actually changed the sheets. They claimed they were full all weekend & couldn’t move us. All one was there. Just not a good experience.

Twice a year for 3 years running.

This hotel has the 4 things uppermost in my requirements, #1 requirement, Clean, and it always has been since my first stay here in 2016. #2, Outside access, I hate staying anywhere that I have to trudge down a hall. #3, smoking rooms. #4 parking for my crewcab 8 foot bed pickup with a 20 foot trailer, I need room to park and it is available and not inconvenient. I have delayed in posting reviews because I wanted to see if the quality stayed the same, it actually improved. I called in for my stay Saturday the 28th, and Mita did remember me, that is impressive. I can't comment on breakfast because I leave too early or too late. When I go to Rome, I always know where I will stay. After 6 stays, once in the Spring and once in early Fall, I can very comfortably say that there is no need or interest in checking out other hotels.

Pictures Speak for Themself

I will first start off by saying the lady at check in was very helpful and courtesy. Unfortunately, that and the a/c working is the only positive thing I can say about our experience at this location. We intended on staying two weeks but left after the first week due to the poorly maintained outfit. The internet was so restricted I was unable to even perform the simplest of business tasks (I work with IT so my knowledge of such matters is not in question.) The one vending machine was broke after the first day and wasn't fixed even when we left 6 days later. The chairs in the room were disgusting. The walls were gross. There was so much damage to the trim it left huge gaps between the door and frame. The shower water pressure wouldn't even get all the shampoo out of my long hair. That wasn't the worst part about it. The bathrooms were so nasty you didn't even feel clean even when you got out of the shower. We couldn't hang clothes up because the rack wasn't secured to the wall. It was the first of August and the pool they advertise as an amenity was closed. We got a room for four people with two beds but the bathroom was only stocked with 2 towels and 2 wash clothes. So you had to go to the front desk to retrieve the items that should already be stocked as a standard for a room that sleeps four. The fact the towels had LA Fitness on them was amusing too. Breakfast was alright. We showed up 30 minutes before they quit serving one morning and stuff was empty so they proceeded to bring out one cup of batter to make a waffle instead of refilling. I had to do laundry and the washer and dryer are outside on the second floor in a walkway. Not only is it unsettling because its not secure with your belongings but it was the middle of summer in Georgia. So standing outside with temperatures of 102F (yes you can look it up that is not an exaggeration) to do your laundry was not ideal. And they charge $4/load which I think is absolutely absurd. We changed hotels, staying in 2 other places and none of them were that high. They were even higher rated hotels. To most people that may not be a big deal but when doing laundry for a week for four people it adds up. I spent $20 to do 5 loads. After the money we were paying to stay in this dilapidated hotel I found that aggravating. I see the good reviews and maybe we got the worst of what the place had to offer but I will not be staying here again nor will I recommend it unless you just need a bed for the night passing through.

Long term stay

I ended up staying here after reading about a review from a fellow nurse that stayed here for a travel assignment. It was everything she said. My house sold before I was prepared to move on to my new job. So I stayed at Red Roof Inn for about 5 weeks. Mita is fabulous. She made sure that I was taken care of. She even handled an issue that was going on outside of my door from someone that was being too loud. She had them removed promptly. I do like that I had my own entrance. My furbabies were also very welcome. I always felt safe here. There are cameras everywhere. Also the girls that were cleaning were always smiling and friendly. Every morning they would ask me if I needed anything thing..towels..sheets...toilet paper. They never entered my room for cleaning per my request, but would have if I needed them to. (Was just less stressful for my furbabies) Thank you to Mita and the gang for taking care of me. They also have a breakfast bar (I never utilized this so not really able to comment on it ) The pool always appeared clean..and there is a washer and dryer on site. I definately recommend Red Roof Inn..for short...or long term stays. Stayed there from June 27th to July 31, 2019.

Could have been 5 stars with a little work

I'd love to give this place 5 stars. For the $69 price tag, it's really good. But, there were little things. 1st, the dead bolt didn't work. Maybe if I'd been strong enough to push the warped door. We had a handicap room. Had to ask for the tub seat pictured on the website. Not a problem. They brought it. We needed a warm room because of medical issues. Never got over 71 even though we put the thermostat on 90. The coffee maker was missing the tray where you put the coffee. Breakfast was pitiful. No meat. No pastries. Just gravy biscuits cereal and waffles. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable, great water pressure. Good location. It was very good. Most of all, i appreciate the tall toilet. Hate a handicap room with kindergarten toilets.
