From the moment I checked in, I knew this was going to be a very different experience than when I had stayed at the Red Roof Joliet before. First, I was traveling alone and was told there were no first floor rooms available. I was told that there was some kind of race going on. So, the guys for the race got the first floor rooms, and I had to drag my luggage up to the second level. It was very inconvenient, but not the end of the world. Then, the room was not exactly what I would call clean. The bedspread had stains all over it. The sheets looked like someone rolled a cart or stepped on parts of it. Since it didn't look like the marks were made by a body on them and I was tired, and I didn't complain. I am not sure what good it would have done anyway since the staff looked frazzled and unfriendly. In the morning, I was not even asked how my stay was. Do not think I will stay at this Red Roof again.

Typical for a red roof - shady people staying there, some are permanent residents. Basic everything and questionable cleanliness. Stayed at this hotel in a pinch and wish I would have tried harder to find something else. The rooms are updated for a red rood.

My husband and I are traveling on I-80 and wanted to stop just past Chicago, so we found this hotel on the iExit app and made a reservation over the phone. When we checked in, we went straight to our assigned room so that I could use the bathroom. There was a puddle of water on the bathroom floor in front of the toilet. I wiped it up with a hand towel, but when I was done using the toilet, there was the start of a fresh puddle. Water seemed to be leaking up from the laminate flooring. We asked to be changed to a different room, and the new room we were given had a malfunctioning door that locks from the inside when no one is in the room. We had to have hotel staff come up and practically break down the door to get into our room. Instead of offering us a different room yet again, the hotel staff member joked with us that we would just not be able to leave the room because we "might not get back in." What?! This is not a good hotel. I would not stay here again. I gave it 2/5 because it was quiet and convenient to the freeway but that's it.

Not that great. Price was right and the room was acceptable but the service was poor, We never received maid service the entire stay of three days, was told they only had 2 houskeepers. The non-smoking room still smelled faintly of smoke and the environment was a little on the seedy side. I would not stay here again.

We had two rooms here: one for my husband and I, and one for my parents. We arrived fairly late, but check in was easy and the man who helped us was very nice. Got to our first room, and ours smelled horribly of smoke. I have fairly bad allergies, so we asked to move. They were happy to accommodate us, and moved us to a different building around the corner. These rooms were significantly larger and included a fridge and microwave. They were also much nicer. My parents' room smelled kind of musty, but not enough that they wanted to move for a second time. Our room didn't have a hair drier, but my parents' did, so they do have them if your room doesn't. Their first room also didn't have any shampoo or soap, so that also exists if you show up and there's none there. There's no breakfast here, but there's a Bob Evans a 30 second walk away, which is serviceable for breakfast. This place is also dog friendly, which we appreciated and took advantage of. All in all, it was a fine hotel. Nothing remarkable, but it was just fine.
