Great Hotel near Mammoth Cave

(Positive) · Very comfortable and clean with fresh scent and nice, big bathroom with brand new shower. Location is nice with restaurants and gas nearby. The barbeque restaurant across the street (Bucky Bee's BBQ) is fantastic! (Negative) · There really wasn't anything too negative here that would keep me from coming back. There were some really loud children out front at one point, but they didn't stick around too long and it was early evening still. Overall, my fiance and I really liked this place and would definitely stay again when visiting Mammoth Cave.

Decent stay for a walk in on a Saturday night near Mammoth Caves National Park

We were moving from Florida to Indiana and needed a place to crash after driving 12 hours. I did call ahead earlier in the day to see if it was a possibility to stay here but didn't want to book in case we needed to stop before we got there. I wasn't sure if they'd have room since they are so close to the national park and it's a Saturday in early August. We lucked out. We walked in around 9:30 pm and were given a room without a fridge or a microwave, but it did have two queen bed and a working shower - modest needs. We just needed to sleep and shower. We have a dog so we know we can stay at Red Roof Inns anywhere as they accept pets at no additional charge. Check in was smooth and quick, we were given a ground floor room, easy to get to. Good area for parking, well lit. Nice little breakfast with cold and hot food, as well as make your own waffles which were awesome. It's an older hotel, but our room was clean, freshly painted, decent carpet and newer linens, what else did we need? We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Long-time rowdy guests involved in a STABBING right outside my hotel room door!

I unfortunately saw more BLOOD at this hotel than I have ever seen in my life. Red Roof Inn is definitely not the place to stay if you value peace and quiet and expect that the hotel will remove very disruptive people from the property so you can enjoy your stay before they end up STABBING each other and you have to see all of the BLOOD from it. A large group of people staying in multiple rooms near our room were loud and disruptive many times over the course of 7 hours the evening that we stayed. They were drinking and partying and setting off super loud fireworks. They also revved the engine on one of their cars multiple times and burnt so much rubber doing “doughnuts” in the parking lot that we could smell it in our room. We called and complained about them and we were told by other guests that they complained about the rude group, as well. The hotel staff did not ask them to leave, however, despite multiple complaints from guests. At about 11:00 p.m., we opened our hotel room door to find a man on the ground right outside our room and BLOOD EVERYWHERE. Apparently, one member of the group had STABBED another member of the group. Had the hotel kicked them out when they were being rowdy all afternoon, we would not have had to witness the aftermath of a STABBING. I personally would feel very UNSAFE if I ever had to stay there again. [On the plus side, if you like to get drunk and rowdy and cause all kinds of disturbances, Red Roof Inn might be the place for you - you won’t have to worry about them kicking you off the property, as it is possible they will continue to accommodate you!]

Terrible Customer Service

All Red Roof Inns are not created equal and this one is unacceptable. Though we were staying in Cave City for several nights, we booked a different hotel for the remainder of our visit. And to top it off, I left a pair of shoes in the room and when I returned 24 hours later, I was told they threw them away.

I have stayed at this property many times over the past several years. The management and staff are wonderful. The room's are clean and comfortable. The management's commitment to providing a great guest experience is very evident.
