Not worth it no matter how little you pay!

To start, we had booked 5 rooms for 10 people at the same time and thus had ONE confirmation number. Upon arriving, my dad and I were told that there was no history of our name in the system. My dad is the one who made the reservations and paid in advance. Also, the other 4 parties already checked in! So how could the reservations have been cancelled. My dad asked if there were any more rooms available and luckily there was one left. We agreed to reserve that room as we were already running late for a previous appointment due to the 45 minutes of haggling over the reservations. While we were waiting one customer came in and said that their room was not cleaned at all and another came in and said that there was already someone else's stuff in the room! Also while we were there, the other staff member behind the counter stepped out of the office 3 times to check on other customers room keys that were not working. She did this while about 10 other people were still waiting in line to check in. She also insisted that all 5 rooms that we booked needed to have separate confirmation numbers but that was impossible as it was ONE single booking. The guy who was attempting to check us in insisted that the problem was with booking.com which was the web site we used to reserve the rooms. He insisted that WE had to call booking.com to resolve the issue. He finally agreed to call them and upon talking to booking.com they determined that the reservations were legitimate and that somebody at the hotel had cancelled the reservations. Not sure how the reservations could have been cancelled when the other 4 parties already checked in! Anyhow, the dude behind the counter agreed to give us our original room and we got the room keys and were all set, right? Wrong. When we got to the room both of our keys would not work. Of course! We walked back to the lobby and told the guy and he insisted that we must have demagnetized the keys by having them too close to a credit card or a magnet of some kind since these room keys were "the cheap ones". Well, he reset them and we walked back down to the room and guess what? the keys still did not work. We went back down to the lobby again and he said that we must not have been using them properly or pushing the door handle down hard enough. He reluctantly agreed to come down and try them himself. He did and was amazed that they still did not work. He at least used his master key and let us in to unpack and said that he would be right back with the new keys. He did come back in about 10 minutes and the new keys worked fine. After all that, we started checking out the room and immediately noticed the super strong smell of dogs. Lots of dogs. and smoke despite the faded little sticker below the door handle on the outside of the door that said "100 percent smoke free". Apparently this is a "pet friendly" hotel. At this point, knowing that there were no more rooms available we decided to just live with it as we were only going to be there for about 10 more hours. We also found a lot of hair in the tub/shower drain. The sink was cracked, the ceiling was peeling in numerous areas. We found some kind of a red bug on the one bed and dog prints on the sheets of the other bed that were somehow ironed in or something. I then tried to plug my cell phone into the "power strip" located below the night stand between the beds and could not get it to charge. Upon further inspection, I found that someone had cut off the plug end of the power strip! The wifi was wonky and went in and out our entire stay. The tv was ok and actually had 2 HBO channels. The walls as per usual were paper thin and the doors to the rooms all open to the outside. There was a lot of traffic noise and noise from the parking lots as well. I definitely DO NOT recommend anyone staying here no matter how little you pay.

We were unable to make it to the hotel because we got into an accident. My cell phone died because of all the time calling for help, and roadside assistance. I was unable to cancel our reservation by the 6 pm deadline. I called the hotel as soon as I could to let them know what happened. They charged full price for two rooms and were completely unreasonable. I could tell they cared more for the money than trying to be considerate or provide customer service. I certainly will never stay at a Red Roof Inn again.

i've been staying at this hotel for the past 6 years. the new owners are horrible. the parking lot and grounds are full of dog poop and cig butts. then, because i got a discounted rate (redi-card), they stuck me in the most run down filthy room. several urine stains on bed spread, fowl odor in room, damaged walls and scary bathroom. (also looks like they take in welfare people now who sit outside their door smoking and using their cell phones all day/night.) i complained and they moved me to the other side of the hotel in a very clean room. but, there was even more dog poop everywhere. very sad these owners are ruining a really nice hotel.

check your bed- you never know what you'll find.

we choose this place because it was inexpensive and located on our vacation route just to sleep over instead of driving straight through. It's not much to look at, but we thought it would be worth the price...... wrong. Overlooking all the other shortcomings (cigarette butts and dog crap all over the sidewalk & parking lot- to start with) the final straw was when we pulled the sheets back to go to bed. There were pubic hairs, dirt and a shoe print on the sheet you lay on! Obviously they had made the bed from the last visitors, but didn't change the bedding. It took some haggling, but we finally got a refund and packed up.

When i got to red roof in to check in i was told the room weould be reading in an hour..Helllo check in is at 2.I asked for a non smoking room...whenI entered the room smelled like an ashtray.when I complained the girl said..idk why all our rooms are non smoking.
