Reserved one night at a great price. I didn't stay the whole night but the room was well maintain, clean and neat. I was amazed at the room for the price. Great deal! I would definitely recommend that location to friends and family.

Room Reeked of Cigarette Smoke

We reserved a nonsmoking room, but were given a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. In addition, the bathroom sink did not drain properly, and there were various areas of chipped paint. Since the hotel was fully booked, they could not give us another room. I really think that some sort of discount should have been offered since the condition of the room was so poor. The staff at the front desk was very courteous and took my phone number saying that she would have the manager call me. He never did. I followed up with emails to the manager and to the corporate office. Both offered standard apologies, but no discount. We had family staying in the same hotel and could see that their room was great. It’s disappointing that this Red Roof was not willing to do the right thing.

I would like to take a moment and wish the new management at the Red Roof Inn Wilkes Barre the Best of Luck moving forward. I stayed at this location on August 19th and 20th. I had a very nice stay and they are currently making upgrades too every room. I recommend this location and keep in mind it is PET FRIENDLY. Also, The interaction with the Manager Krunal went FANTASTIC a very nice guy! Again, When your in the Wilkes Barre PA area be sure to stay here. Sincerely, Lawrence Booth Budd Lake NJ

1ST VISIT: We stayed here not once but twice. The first visit the manager refused to have towles brought to the room when the room had not enough as it was. My wife asked several times and he spoke in a rude an d demeaning manner. He insisted that he would not bring them and she had to wait for room service so I had to go to the office and speak with him direct. Not knowing he was the manager the first time we figured it was a fluke and they just had one bad guest service agent. NOTE: Every other employee working there has been professional and pleasant. 2ND VISIT: We again visited this property and this time after parking my car I found a white car parked nest to it. Whenever this happens I always check the side of my car to ensure there are no door dings. An individual approached me and asked what I was doing and as such I explained what I was doing. After I left the same individual approached me and yelled for me to come over here, with the exact phrase "Get over here". He then became confrontational and stated he was the manager and he parks his car carefully. The next day I parked my car more to the opposite side of the car space and when I returned I found the managers car parked closer to mine and almost over the parking space line which seemed to be as if he was just doing this to spite me. I once again ignored this and went to bed. The next morning the same manager yelled at me to once again "Get over here". I at this point approached him in his office and spoke to him about his choice of words and he seemed to understand. Here's the problem I have, a person who has no idea how to speak to guests should never be a manager and if they speak to me in this manner I can only expect that he speaks to his staff in a worse manner as they have to put up with him in order to keep their job. Lastly, a manager should never park in the stall closest to the office as that should be for guests only and they should have assigned parking furthest from the office as the guests that actually pay for staying at the hotel. Now I did ask that the owner call me and left my number but apparently a dissatisfied guest is not a priority and I never received that call. I stated specifically that I'd rather speak to the owner then put a bad review on the internet, but since no call here is my review.

Room had an awful smell. Cigarette smoke. Poor check -in. Clerks were speaking to one another in foreign language. Bed very uncomfortable. Poor water pressure in shower. Outside lighting very dim. Removing this hotel from next years trip from North Carolina to Vermont.
