One-Night Stay on Way Home from NOLA
Unfortunately, ended up staying here the night Hurricane Dorian hits the coast of SC. Coming home from NOLA vacation, most hotels in Columbia SC area either WAY expensive or sold out. Needless to say, have some good and bad to say. GOOD: place to sleep for the night. Bead somewhat comfortable. BAD: Overpriced. Paid $98 for a $55 room due to close to being sold out. Room in need of upgrading. Did NOT feel too safe in the area. Lesson learned: when traveling that far, have hotel reservations IN ADVANCE (which I usually do; bad on me.)
Great sleep
some hotels I stay out cost a lot and have crap beds thankfully this place is not one of those, I love there beds there staff is very nice and the rooms are clean and anytime that I have had a problem I just let management know and they fixed the problem.
Going to Lizardman Festival
Went to the 2nd Annual Lizard Man Festival 31 May - 2 June, and stayed here. Price is right. Check-in went very quickly. Rooms no carpet but shiny clean. Beds comfortable. The only real complaint was there was no remote for the TV. Quickly resolved after changing batteries in another remote at the front desk. One small bar of soap for two people, which was not replaced after the 1st night. But we carry our own so no big deal. WiFi easy to log into.
Terrible stay
Our room had dead bugs on floor. There was a gap in the door, so flies were flying around. We stay in a lot of Red Roof Inn's and this one by far was the worst one. There were holes in the sheets, walls dirty, stained sheets, and it was very noisy.
Pets Stay Free! Towels and Pillowcases had Stains,
Pros: 1. Pets stay 100% free, which is very rare for a hotel. This makes it very convenient for traveling with pets and the quality of the hotel doesn't really matter at that point lol. 2. Price was low. I paid $75 through the weekend in April of 2019. 3. Location is next literally next door to several fast food places, Waffle House, and the "downtown" Bishopville is right down the street with several other stores. 4. Bed and comfy. 5. A/C worked fine. 6. Free WIFI and cable! 7. Mini fridge available in the room. 8. Shower water pressure was good. 9. Lobby provided free coffee. 10. Housekeeping staff was very nice and provided me with extra towels when requested. Cons: 1. The towels and pillowcases were filthy with stains. 2. Rooms felt run down. For example, one of the lights in my room were flickering off and on like the lights in a horror movie. It's definitely a "Budget" hotel.
