First stay at a Red Roof Plus+

We had a very clean and large room with the usual amenities for the money. (Room had a microwave and fridge.) The bathroom is larger than a normal Red Roof which is nice, and a closet instead of a clothes rack. Beds were comfortable allowing for a good nights sleep. Staff was friendly and they have a free breakfast. I will stay here again.

Surprised by the quality in a "lower budget" hotel

We were met by a very polite and courteous young lady at the front desk. She was the wife of the manager and wore many hats! We were traveling with friends and meeting other friends and wanted rooms in proximity to each other. They were very accommodating to our request. We all arrived much earlier than check-in time and would have been most understanding if we couldn't get into our rooms right away, but Rimal Patel, the front desk clerk/manager's wife, scurried and got our rooms ready for us. It helped immensely as we had time for a leisurely lunch at the restaurant she had recommended and given us coupons for before we had to return to our rooms and dress for a funeral we were attending in the area. The rooms are large and clean and I appreciated the hard surface floors (there's a bit of carpet in the bed area) since it's a "pet-friendly" place. We were very satisfied and pleased with the whole experience and may even consider other Red Roof Plus accommodations when we travel to other areas, which we do often.

Great Renovations

This is the first time I stayed at Red Roof Plus, the rooms are huge with alot of room left. We were next to the interstate and I couldn't hear the traffic. I will be staying here again for Thanksgiving and the rooms are reasonably priced.

Worst customer service experience ever!

Words can't describe how rude the front desk clerk was at the Red Roof Inn in Knoxville. I had initially called after booking online as to how many pets were allowed since I booked with them through and they stated they were pet friendly. When I stated we were travelling with 5 cats it was assumed we were going to be smuggling in all 5 cats. I said I only wanted to know the limit since I didn't want to bring in more than was allowed and my fiance was going to stay with the remainder in the van.. My fiance decided to stay with the cats in the van anyway since one of them was ill from the trip from Texas to Virginia. But that explanation was not good enough for Lorraine. So my stepdaughter and I stayed at the Days Inn across the freeway and my fiance stayed in the van with the cats. Lorraine apparently doesn't know the corporate policy that states one well behaved pet under 80 pounds is allowed after I asked her repeatedly what the minimum pet allowance was over the phone before getting there, but she just kept saying there's nothing else I can do. I asked if it was 1 and she said "There's nothing I can do. Is there anyone else there that might know? "There's nothing more I can do." It took me 2 seconds to find it with a Google Search. Lorraine then told me to call back and press option 1, which is to book a new reservation. When I arrived she pushed a piece of paper at me that was a pet agreement. I said the cats were sleeping in the car with my fiance and wouldn't be coming in. Since I refused to sign a pet behaviour agreement on arrival I was denied a room to rent. She kept saying they won't allow 5 cats, had apparently flagged my reservation as I was going to be bringing in 5 cats, and just rebuffed me with "Have a good evening," and "There's nothing more I can do. Apparently Red Roof Inn has no managers on duty over the weekends either, as she stated one wouldn't be available until Monday. Upon her rude behaviour her coworkers glanced at her as in shock but returned to their work and everyone just ignored the fact that I was even there. No one one even looked in my direction or spoke up as Lorraine gave me a smug look. I only wish their calls were recorded and their desk video was available for public review so her actions and words can be seen to be believed. Red Roof Inn Corporate should retrain all their employees in what customer service is and what their corporate policies are. I cannot recommend this Red Roof Inn due to simply rude employees who feel if you come into their domain you are subject to their petty whims regardless of the fact that you are the customer who is wanting to do the right thing and follow their rules. If you even mention you have pets with you be prepared to be grilled about them even if they are not coming in to the room with you. Any explanation will simply not suffice and it will be used to arbitrarily deny you a room without any recourse, regardless if you have been driving since Little Rock. I can, however, recommend the Days Inn across the freeway as their employee was much more friendly and their rates were cheaper. Plus I never mentioned pets once and the cats slept in the van with my fiance quite contently. I decided to write this review at 1am from the Days Inn while the events were still fresh in my head so pardon any grammatical errors.

We have stayed here every time we visit knoxville. Cheryl and Lorraine at the front desk are top notch! The amenities are wonderful. It’s extremely clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and the pride of ownership shows! Breakfast is abundant with anything you could ask for and the women who work at breakfast are great, as well. Same for the housekeeping staff! You couldn’t ask for a better stay at this price! Highly recommend! And,pets stay free!
