Just ok

This property was fairly clean, quiet, and easily located. The front desk checkin was not overly friendly- when I asked if she could check to see if we are in their points program, she said no and didn’t offer any information. I like the solid surface floors, and the beds were comfortable. Housekeeping needs to do a better job of cleaning around the edges as gunk is forming in some places. The breakfast area was a tiny hallway and a small lobby.

Not greeted with a smile

Stopped as a halfway point for our trip. Accidentally booked wrong Red Roof when driving, front desk girl was as nasty as she could be to me and my 78 year old father about it. After she snapped a "no" at me about changing our booking to her hotel, had to go outside to call the 800 number for Red Roof and they took care of it. Went back in for her to continue to be nasty. Sorry we inconvenienced you dear. At my hotel we do whatever we can to insure the guests are happy, even calling another property if they book wrong when driving 16 hours. This girl acted like we were inconveniencing her to do her actual job as a front desk person which I am also. Then still with no smile or even saying "your welcome" when we said thank you to her, she says "it's a $200 charge if you smoke in your room too" because she seen me smoking outside. Also witnessed her (in front of my kids) repeatedly threaten to throw people out. And the BEST was her charging her own $20 cleaning fee to a returning guest. I believe the fee is $200? And it wouldn't be taken by her and her writing a personal receipt for it. She told this man who was staying there because of working close by that he had to pay $20 to clean the bathtub when he was there the last time! I told him to turn her in, no front desk clerk charges a $20 fee, and hand writes a receipt for it. The cleaning fee is $200, and we print receipts in 2018. I have been a Red Roof Member for years, and we love Red Roof Inns, thankfully the 800 number helped us, or she wasn't giving us a room, and we were one of 4 cars in her parking lot. Didn't bother to get her name, because she was so nasty to us it took everything I had not to actually train her on how to do her job. Won't EVER go back there and would advise anyone to not go there either.

Typical Red Roof Inn

Nothing special, but perfectly adequate for a good night’s sleep on the road. Red Roof typifies the 2-Star hotel stay: clean room, decent bed, fridge, microwave & spartan carb-only continental breakfast. In my experience, Red Roof Inn typically has small rooms, even by 2-Star hotel standards, but the rooms tend to be a notch cleaner and better-maintained than comparable chains, and my room at this Red Roof was exactly that: clean room, small room. Pros: Right off the Hwy, easy parking, restaurant & gas station in the same retail complex. Stay here with confidence if you are looking for a typical Red Roof Inn experience.

OK-but beware of bait and switch and charge-ups not worth it

Beware. Needed a half- way point to stop at. Reserved here on Travelocity. When I arrived, the manager said it was a smoking room. I explained that no one in our party smoked and we would prefer to not have a smoking room due to our allergies. He then lectured me on how I needed to pay attention when I am booking online and that I should have called them directly. I was lectured on the number of guests in the hotel and the limited space. Then he said that online it does not state anything about whether it is smoking or non-smoking room and it was a "crap-shoot" to book online, so my only way to be sure was to call. This changed from the first part of the lecture. He said he would be nice and change us to a non-smoking room. It was late, were were tired and so I had been mostly silent through his non-stop talking. I said thank you and took the key. On our way to the room, we noticed very few cars for people staying there (hmm, booked full?). Then at the start of breakfast noticed barely a soul. Got home to discover that I was charged 30 dollars more than the price I had originally paid online. The room was clean and quiet, the beds were not the most comfortable. The desk clerk overcharged me....will never stop here again.

Pleasant surprise for a budget motel

We have been avoiding many of the "budget motels' after unpleasant experiences. However, decided to give this a try after reading positive reviews. Found it to be all they said Recently renovated, the laminated floors (clean--without the stickiness found in so many of the laminates), it was nice to have in our "doggie" room. And this was the first "pet friendly" motel we have ever stayed at--regardless of price--that offered a treat when we registered. Doggie bags were available in the outside walking area, thank you. There was a very mild odor, not offensive, to the room, and scratches around the baseboard were no doubt the result of its being a pet room. However, furniture, beds, etc., and floor all looked clean and beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee were available around the clock, and a "continental" breakfast--again unexpected in a budget motel. If in the area, we would stay here again. Refrig and microwave in the room. TV very nice, with many station options.
