The worst!
If I could give zero I would. The place smells like a bad nursing home. There is black mold in the bathroom. There was a cat across the hall and you could smell cat pee. The continental breakfast consisted of two different dry cereals and no milk. One rotting banana a 4 oranges. I have wrote corporate and they offered my a voucher for free night...no thank you!!
Cozy!
Location was great. Lots of places to shop and eat. The hotel was cozy and clean. They had a food station. The pool was adorable. Dogs are free! The hotel is located right off GWMH you're close to Food Lion, Big Lots, plenty to see.
Wonderful stay.
My family and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the sights in the area. We had an excellent experience here. Our room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was very good and the staff was always willing to bring out more when supplies ran low. Speaking of the staff, I would like to give a shout out for Austin and Ryan. Both of these young men were so polite and helpful and they didn't act like it was a bother to talk or answer any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again, if we get the opportunity to come back.
Disappointed
Dirty carpet and bathroom, had to ask for bath towels and toilet paper. Previous occupants' dirty washcloth in dirty tub. Had to ask for tub to be sanitized. Fair breakfast, food barely warm.Good: hot water, ice machine and pool.
Decent hotel, nice staff, improvements needed
My stay was decent. For reference, when I rate a hotel, I look for cleanliness, safe, location, breakfast (if its offered) and friendly staff, I'm easy to please. Pros: The staff named Austin was very nice, really made our stay more pleasant. Another male staff member didn't have an outgoing personality and was very dry seemed like he was just there, not rude just no personality at all. Location- right in Yorktown close to Yorktown Beach, about 25-30minute drive to VA beach, nice sized free parking lot Spacious room. Pool Cons; The breakfast area was closed down when there was several minutes left until it was supposed to be closed. I paid too much money over $150 per night for the breakfast to be closed early. This was really frustrating. I was able to get a bun and some juice though...The male worker saw us there looking but made no effort to pull anything back out... The emergency stairwells between floors were filthy with marks on the walls and dirt. IT WAS DISGUSTING!! The bathroom also needed some work with dirt and scuffs. I can tell that this hotel is just getting by but some money on getting it painted and seriously cleaned would go far especially or the price. The mattress was very flat and uncomfortable. The tv is Awful. Its small and the quality is bad. I tried to watch a dvd but was told that there weren't any DVD players there. The tv didn't have a dvd insert on the side like other hotel tv's do. I had a room by the elevator and because it had a very high pitched sound, sleep at night was very uncomfortable because people were riding it all throughout the night. For a day or a couple its okay if you don't mind not getting decent breakfast and need the location and parking but if your looking for a comfortable bed and simple basic amenities and basic luxury like a quality tv, then go elsewhere.
