Filthy, loud and a Non-Responsive General Manager
July 16, 2018

We checked out early due to the dirty room, noise and smoke smell. Brandy Pruett, General Manager, was not available when we checked out so we were asked to call back to get the refund processed. It has been 3 days and I still have not heard from Ms. Pruett, nor has my refund been processed. Front desk staff implies she is never present and doesn't take care of her duties as a GM. That is probably why this hotel has gone downhill in the last two years. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Farm animals running wild
July 06, 2018

I was staying on the first floor, and it smelled a zoo. The whole hallway smelled and when I kept walking I found out which room because of how bad it stunk near the door. The pig was running wild, no leash and it just squealed all night long. I didn’t get one bit of sleep that night. There was a dog running loose with no leash and I was scared that it would attack me. The women who had these animals didnt keep an eye on them. Domesticated animals are one thing but farm animals are another. I told the front desk about how there are pigs and dogs running loose and they assured me that this would be taken care of but I was here a week and nothing had been done. Careless workers who just smoke all day long and don’t care about customers or their needs. I heard people coming in and out of rooms all night. There were cops riding through as if looking for somebody. I saw a few people climbing out of windows on the first floor. I just didn’t feel safe. There were cigarette butts everywhere outside. I asked for a non smoking room and I was told that the first floor was non smoking but it reeks of cigarettes. The sheets were dirty, the bathroom was disgusting. I would never recommend this is anyone. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to stay here. I wouldn’t even give them this 1 star but I had no choice to leave this review without a star so I would give it -100 stars. Horrible.

From registration to checkout, this place was awful. It was filthy and all sorts of vagrants were milling around outside. We did not feel safe. There were cigarette butts all over the parking lot. The check in counter was filled with the clerk's soda, cigarettes and spare light fixtures. The beverage/breakfast counter had a cigarette and tissue lying on it. The room was awful. Beds were HARD and I do mean HARD. The shower was dirty. My husband had to wash bugs down the drain to use it. I refused to use it. Outside the window was a squealing pig and some man trying to coax it to him. One window was completely covered with mineral deposits and you couldn't see through it. Apparently this place allows pets and in the room above us must have been a small horse running back and forth all night. We heard them outside in the morning. It was a large energetic dog with a 10 year old boy that liked to talk loudly at 6:00 a.m. No sleep for us. We were grateful our car was still there in the morning and couldn't wait to get the hell out of there.

My mom’s friend came to this hotel

Decent hotel and clean rooms.
April 14, 2018

After trekking the Old Rag in the Shenandoah National Park, we were looking for a place close by to spend the night before heading to the Luray Caverns. Red Roof Inn in Culpepper was a good option. It is located not far from the town of Culpepper, which has some restaurants. The hotel rooms were fairly large, the beds comfortable and the tv was fine. They had a decent breakfast, just like other inns and B&Bs. The staff was nice. I ran into someone from the staff who was from India and spoke my mother tongue, Gujarati, and it was nice to talk to him. The hotel has ample parking. There is free Wi-Fi and it works. The room prices are a little steep for the location and hotel category.
